QUOTE
He calls up just now to inform me that the shipment was put in hold at JB Custom and only be reaching here tomorrow or day after tomorrow. He also mentioned that we can pass the cheque once the delivery is done. No need to wait until the cheque is cleared. Just bear with me for few more days smile.gif
so still have to wait....haihhh.....

My housemate uses a Macbook with a 1GB module paired with the stock 256MB module.
*
i thought that is not possible???

i think someone in this forum said that pairing 1gb with 256mb made his MB could not open.....

In a non-aircond room, the average temp of my MBP is 50C to 60C. With many apps open at the same time, especially when ripping music frm CDs using the combo drive, the temp reach ard 70C++

If in a coold air-cond room, it is ard 40C++ with normal usage like web browsing.

All the above is quite normal based on my research at discu
*
yeah...this is the case for my macbook as well

i m getting tempted to own a white macbook too...want to ask, will the surface  of the macbook like keyboard and mouse pad area get dirty easily for the white macbook ?...

mine is not dirty yet....but the surface feels like it will get dirty easily.....

the outer shell is easily scratched......mine has a few scrathes already....not major ones...the ones that u have to look closely......

not recommended for rough people.......like me......unless you dont really mind.....like me.....hehehe

what apple does might save a bit of money......

coz if we were to upgrade the rams ourselves....we are wasting perfectly good rams......coz we have to take the 2x256 out and replace it with 2x512.......

reboot your machine while holding Command + S key until the Apple logo disappears and come across a bunch of white text on a black background aka DOS-like command prompt....

from there, type "fsck -f", press enter.... it'll check your HD for problems....

once everything completes, take note of the (if any) unusual error messages....

to exit, just type "reboot" and press enter.....
*
it said volume header needs minor repair (2,0)

then it is repairing volume and it is repaired successfully......

what's all this about??
