just call up the hotel and ask for gov rate.
Normally can get RM160 to RM180 per room in line with the gov claim circular.
I got RM160 before for Hilton

jokes aside. i assume you guys are from the private sector. hotels give good rates to gov staff even for personal stay. just ask and nego with the marketing/ reservation staff.

anyway, just to share my experience. it was in hilton kuching. went there a few years ago. it was on minister's function and we booked several rooms. one of the bests deal i got was way back in 2009. I got traders hotel at RM160 with breakfast. in the same year, Hyatt KK suite for below RM500.

those are old rates so TS may want to check for new rates. I no longer take care of hotel bookings, so I don't know what's the current rates.

sorry, can't help you on KL hotel rates. I have booked hotels in Penang, Perlis, East Coast, Sabah, Sarawak.
But never in KL. My office is in KL, so not eligible to stay in KL.

Anyway, have you tried calling any hotels?

was quoted these rates in sept 2012 for penang. it was the peak season, usm was having its convo.

Equatorial - deluxe double occupancy with b'fast for 2 = RM344.50.
Evergreen - superior single with bfast for 1 = 230++
G Hotel - standard room with bfast = 315++
Hotel Royal - deluxe with bfast = 170.
Northam all suites - junior room with 2 bfast = 250.
Cititel - standard with 2 bfast = 220.40
Georgetown City Hotel - superior with 2 bfast = 179.80.
Sunway - deluxe with bfast = 200.


my last visit to east coast was really a long time ago. these are January 2010 rates. maybe just for your info.

Kelantan Renaissance Hotel - deluxe room with bfast = 224.25
Tganu Primula Beach Hotel - deluxe = 184, superior = 161.

i have never used Agoda. best if you call the hotel and compare their price with Agoda's.
