2. Budget - RM2k-RM2.1K
3. Usage - movie, light gaming, uni study,
4. Preferred screen size - 14 inch
5. Preferred processor - i5 (Can help explain difference of second and third gen?)
6. Graphic card - Yes
7. Laptop type - ultrabook/ultrabook alike notebook

Currently aiming at: Lenovo U410, HP Pavillion G4(ugly design & bulky), Asus K46CM (abit over budget), Lenovo Z480(bulky & ugly design), Asus A45VD (not so nice design)

no. you just need to download the iso (from any torrent sites) and you can install it. the license key is embedded into your UEFI, so you dont need to worry it will bump you to re-register your windows 8 again.

Guys...need help.
Im planning to get a Haswell CPU 14'' gaming laptop in a couple of months time.
Currently im torn between these 3 laptops.
1) Lenovo Y510P
2) Illigear / Asus G55
3) Alienware M14x

can any sifus here run me down pros n cons for these 3 in term of reliability, convenience (eg: carry weight, etc), customer service.
money is no object and i'm well aware of their performance.

- GeForce GT640M 2GB

Asus K46CM-WX177h (RM2,299)

- 6GB Ram
- 750 GB HDD
- GeForce GT735M 2GB

This laptop will be primarily used for work as already have a gaming desktop.  Softwares to be used are primarily Microsoft Office.  Nothing too resource draining.  I'll be happy just as long as the softwares can be run smoothly when multiple softwares are active at the same time.

Am open to other laptop also... budget is around RM2.4k but if can get a good deal below RM2k, that would be great too.

the stall-like shops sometimes show old models. the Z500 saw at retail outlets are GT740M. to differentiate between GT740M and GT640M, the nvidia sticker shouldnt have labelled any information or model about the graphics card.

Nice,my staff is telling me the same,but the internal hdd is a ssd? and also am i required to purchase an external dvd rw or does it comes together?

As for the os its using ubuntu but i have win8 business eddition so i can upgrade it my self,then theres this thing,does the laptop has touch screen as my staff is telling its more suitable for win8.
