2. Budget - RM3k and below

3. Usage - Heavy engineering software, AUTOCAD, Orion, SAFE, etc. Some gaming/blu-ray movies

4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 15'

5. Warranty - Good customer service/less hassle if probblem comes up *touchwood*

6. Weight - Maybe not so heavy as I will need to take around for meetings 

I see alot of recommendation for Lenovo Y series, is it suitable for software usage for the above mentioned?

I'm a graphic design student. I would like to purchase a good performance laptop (even battery life), so that I can use my 3D & animation softwares/files smoothly.

I will be purchasing a 256GB SSD drive for my laptop as well. So I don't want to buy a laptop which is above RM2500.

Screen size: Any (FHD, if possible)
Preferred Brand: HP, ASUS, FUJITSU, DELL.

Both are above my budget. As I mentioned I will be purchasing a 256Gb SSD, replace it with the HDD. For FHD, I mentioned 'if possible' or else without FHD will also do. According to my research I found Dell Inspiron 15R and HP ENVY Series which fits my budget. Would like to know your opinion on these 2 models or is there any other models which are better in less than RM2500?

my budget RM4000 max, what i got - intel 330 ssd 120GB

my needs
1. 15 inch
2. a-bit-fast-future-proof gaming rig
3. can tahan for 3-4 years and company still can services the laptop if got problem after 3-4 years (dont mind if need to pay)
4. can hold and maintain high load multimedia (vegas pro,photoshop,after effect,premier pro) and engineering (autocad,solidworks,mathlab) software..
5. can be bulky, NOT an ultrabook
6. dont care the ram coz i'll max it according to the processor 
7. battery life dont need to high,3 hour max if can

im consider 2 option..pls tell me which one u prefer and why

1. y500 i7-3630QM+GT750M SLI+msata 120gb ssd (for OS)+1tb HD (i will sell trade/sell my ssd 120gb to get msata 120gb ssd due to only 1 slot for HD and 1 msata slot)
1.1 might consider Y510p i7-4700MQ+GT750 from ajul (trader for y510p) if can use ext GT750 from y500..can r? or when will y510p SLI come?

Just a note, Sager/Clevo has the worse built-in speakers out there and some, like the w350st's can even sound like a PSP. Also they come equip with cheap 3.5mm audio jacks and VIA onboard audio, which deliver distorted sound when paired with creative home cinema. In short if you are an audiophile or someone who cares about the sound quality, avoid clevo/sager because you will be having some of the worse sound experience ever. I cancelled my w350st order after testing the audio solutions in person. Pretty disappointing

Just a note, audio solutions in CLEVOs are terribly bad. The speakers are distorted, and they practically sound like a PSP (even my w995 non-smartphone beats the lousy onkyo speakers in the clevo). The 3.5mm audio jacks are not even close to standard sound quality. It comes with VIA audio chip and Creative Sound Blaster Home Cinema, but produces atrocious sound quality that sound worse than a radio. If you care about sound quality, stay away from clevo, else you are all set for clevo, as other than sound quality, it has more goodies than the msi ge 60. Unfortunately i can't seem to ignore the terrible sound quality (as i went down in person to test drive the system) and ended up cancelling my order.

Clevo W350ST is awesome but only the sound quality spoiled it

actually not all peoples are concerning about the audio. even though im an audiophile, i really cant notice the difference. so i personally dont rely on built in speakers and audio quality that much.

but i believe the fellow illegear users here are happy with their speakers.
