you know, instead of continuing extreme hostility/prejudice/scrutiny, why don't you take about 5 minutes, lay back, and do some googling or maybe stop posting this thread?

here, i'll save you some time:
The very exact book the OP is referring to

a newer release

and to people b****ing that it's expensive:
1,890 + 1-2k yen shipping per book from amazon jp
1k yen is about rm31-37

and i thought rich people and their headphones would have a bit more decency doh.gif

fixed links and updated current FOREX

Off topic : Bro, if you hold your grudge on Jaben for "God know what reason", please move out of this thread, this is about discussion of the magazine, not your personal whinny post.

It is not local printing, i was skeptical about RM109 in the first place, however when i visit Jaben store and have a brief read on the magazine, straight purchase one without thinking.

It is not an advertisement driven magazine that you read most of IT magazine in Malaysia.

Some spoiler, the advertisement pages inside the book are about 5%, or less than that.

have absolutely nothing against jaben but it is quite obvious that it is a jaben propaganda. even ts as a reviewer, has been tilted towards jaben, just look at the selection of the reviews and timing compare with jaben's launch of the respective product. even jaben feature ts in their website / fb.

Hey man. Thanks for coming over to clarify. smile.gif

Since we are all in the mood to clarify and clear doubts, how many brands that Jaben doesn't carry are featured in the magazine, if at all?
*
Let me clarify this. There are a lot of headphones and earphones that are in this magazine are not sold by Jaben, but in another point of view, there are a lot of headphones and earphones that are in this magazine are sold by Jaben.

You must know why, Jaben has been keeping up with market demands and customer needs. There are lots of customer request on newer headphones and earphones.

Think this as a source of information when purchasing new rigs, the reviews are done by professionals and authentic. The price of this book is also fair, thank you Quazacolt for explaining.

I will comment no more, thanks.

Its either

1. Collaboration, I get to try out new stuff for free and review it and jaben gets free advertising and I get to update my blog with new content. (There is NOTHING wrong with this, it's called having connections and if you didn't have any connections your going to fail in business.)

2. A CONSPIRACY ZOMG OMG OMG

3. Spring Biscuit has a thing for the Jaben jam~ They have a nice environment there, they let me and my friends try a lot of different headphones and didnt act grumpy towards us even though we said we'll be coming back next time(lack of funds poisoned by more expensive headphones).

4. I mean who doesn't like free stuff were Malaysian biggrin.gif

Please don't take my post too seriously this is just for fun. Jaben is awesome, they have pros and cons but i dont see anything wrong with what their doing.

Just want to say I think Jaben is a pretty decent place to get started in this hobby of ours - I can't think of any other dedicated headphone shop which happily let's you try a bunch of stuff without any obligation to buy.

It's good marketing and it helps to raise awareness of head-fi - too many other audio outlets tend to be too damn 'lan si' and treat any customers who enter their shop in jeans and t-shirt like beggars. Fxxx that.

It's been a while since I've visited Jaben due to my work travels but I have good memories of the place and I've purchased a fair amount of gear from them.

Yuheng and Choon Beng have always been courteous and helpful to me, and I've observed they are also the same to everyone else.

Apart from that, I could care less if they also sell Beats or expensive headphone magazines... neither are really my taste but I'm sure there are customers who appreciate it.

All the best to Jaben.

Oh, so its not Jaben magazine, so sorry about that. Anyway, yeah, Jaben is the first place in shop that I feel so friendly with and its really helpful in this hobby. Without them, I'll never know the world of audiophile. notworthy.gif

Got a free 2012 edition from Jaben after buying FAD Heaven S. Was gutted though that Heaven S wasn't even given any review section ;(
Heaven C and some Adagios were given reviews.. The top IEM though was AKG3003.
Surprisingly reviews and ratings on the net didn't seem to live up to the hype of the rave reviews given by the 'experts' in the magazine :/

If you do a simple profiling on the ones who rate the gears, it's not hard to notice they prefer certain signature or preferences.

It is the year of 2011 to 2012, that time we still don't have Fitear tested by the reviewers.
Stay tune for 2013, can't wait for the english version.

Yeah, I was kinda puzzled when quite a number of opinions favor the latest AKG K3003. Fitear TG334 was nowhere to be found.

Anyway, it's nice to see how different person have different setup to cater for their individual need. Give me some ideas tho!
