QUOTE(cacing @ Jun 9 2009, 10:02 PM) i asked the head of ptptn on monday at the national student council conference.. asked him to increase the amount of loan for mbbs and dentistry programme...he buat tak tau and say oh, u know.. ptptn can't come out with the money.... and bla bla bla.... ... Added on June 10, 2009, 7:44 am QUOTE(imamaxis @ Jun 9 2009, 10:59 PM) Hey seriously library in AIMST is kosong? Even for medic? Aiya.. not to say kosong la.... but it is insufficient... hehe.... Hey can i get twin sharing room? Is it always full? I for twin sharing room.. better ask your parents to talk with student affairs.. due to the lack of rooms, all new students will have to stay in 4 to a room.... for 3 to a room, 2 to a room, and 1 to a room its a case by case basis... QUOTE(kennethwongpk @ Jun 27 2009, 01:07 AM) alright, let's get the facts rite. am not nerdy and far from a distinction student. AIMST is so famous.. even University Malaya is using AIMST Dental Hospital as their new dental faculty design.i bet you must have done your research on it. and am not going to further elaborate on that (good + bad). to be honest with you, if you're asking anyone from aimst dentistry concerning on that matter, in 9/10 situation, probably you'll end up getting a bias answer. In my opinion, our aimst dental school facilities and equipments are second to none. Dental Simulation Lab (where you would encounter in an actual, functionary operatory). There are about 120-130 lab's work stations in this lab and each unit is equipped with LCD screens, air, water and suction capabilities, high/low speed handpieces as well as anatomically correct, adjustable manikin heads, complete with lips, cheeks, gums and etc. Cool eh? Then, Dental Technology Lab (where you learn about producing appliances, partial and complete dentures, bridges, crowns, orthodontics, ceramics and etc). There are about 90-110 work stations in this lab. All work stations are imported from Germany which cost maybe about a BMW 5 series or more. Impressive heh? Imagine you're working on 5 series every afternoon. Oh ya, not to forget. Our Dental Hospital, we have a lot dental chairs lah. each costs about Rm90-100k. Lecturers are mostly from UK and India. To name a few, Prof. Smales, Prof Comfort, Prof. Ferguson, Prof. Luke, Dr. Robinson, Prof. Wihas, Datuk Dr. Rohani Ramli (ex-director oral health malaysia, ministry of health) and etc etc. We have endodontists, periodontists, orthodontists, paedodontists around. What else? Just come over and study lah. Don't think so much. there is no astro in AIMST at the moment due to some stupid students who took the card and cut the card into 2... not once but twice. so the management is planning to not to re-introduce it unless the students agreed to take good care of the astro card.... QUOTE(imamaxis @ Jun 27 2009, 04:25 PM) its all 4 to a room now.... u can special request for 3 to a room... 1 to a room is onli applicable for foreigners... and 2 to a room is slowly converting to 1 to a room.. due to lack of 1 to a room.. |

QUOTE(csrulez @ Jul 4 2009, 10:14 PM) So far i haven't heard any of em' going back with train. Lol. Express buses will be a better choice. Railway is another backdated way to go back home, no longer used nowadays except for the experience. ...... ppl do use train.... although its longer journey... its always full... |

heys all.. just some updates...
AIMST ID number for the year of 2009 reached a new milestone.... the last recorded ID which i know of is 0901360.... 2nd convo is on the october 10 ramli ibrahim dance thingy on the 25th october... library is currently opened till 10.30pm on mondays to fridays for the month of august feedback is needed whether this can be implemented the whole year around.... internet in guys and girls hostel. the problem with the internet is due to wireless routers which conflict with the AIMST main streamyx account. So... if possible use ethernet hub, not wireless routers. if u insist on using wireless routers, please bring it to IT department to reconfigure it to AIMST settings... the pathway near the laundry block doesn't get flooded d.. thanks to the MIED ppl.. who dug a small drain as a temporary solution. i think thats all at the moment... hehe... feel free to give suggestions and ideas on problems face by students and how can it be solved... thanks |

QUOTE(blynn123 @ Dec 15 2009, 08:16 PM) erm, next year from what i heard there will be more than 800 students studying for foundation. ( approx. 1000, based on AIMST wanting to increase its student population, my own thinking.)they will be applying for the various seats available. 200- medic 85? - dentistry 60? - pharmacy around 70+ - biotech 50+ - business 50+ - engineering and IT if i am not mistaken. the chances of a person studying A-levels and applying and getting a slot in dentistry is slim. cause JPA will also be fighting for the few slots available. thus suggest u enter foundation and score well to get the course u desire. =) |
