the major problem for this phone is 80 character sms limit.

Update to tweaks done on my Vega No 6
I have successfully installed CWM Recovery v 6.0.2.8 and have done a nandroid backup successfully too. Have been looking up several Chinese, Korean, Hardwarezone.sg websites for solution , tested several methods and finally found success from HERE

This is ONLY a temporary CWM as after reboot , phone will boot back to stock recovery. You need phone connected ( do select it first to be in MTP mode) to PC to execute this CWM Recovery. Once CWM booted up, you can disconnect phone from PC. This point was never mentioned at all.

How to install ?
With phone switch on and with USB debugging selected, connect phone to PC
Just run the A860 CWM batch file ( extract the zip first ) - you should see phone connected and your phone ID display - type in "y" to select
Phone will boot to Fastboot mode and subsequently boot to CWM mode
With CWM installed , you can now easily root it too ( if your phone not rooted yet) with the Root zip file. Copy this file to internal memory or ext SDcard of phone. In recovery mode, just select "install zip from sdcard"

Get it from Korea gmart . Choose English version n search . Payment via Paypal as usual . Got this last week , take 4 days to receive it at my end upon getting shipping confirmation from them . However , was told Taobao is cheaper ..




There's a guide to remove the limit for Vega R3 . Since they r sharing the same hardware beside d screen , I will give it a try when i get back to KL as thanks to uncle Benny for posting cwm , hopefully can do a good backup before trying .

Sorry I dont use Hotlink prepaid. I am on Maxis postpaid and have no issues with the MMI codes

i already folllow your guide but still didn't work.i replace the framework&use 3rd party sms but still the same.wondering why still not working.hmmm.

i want to try root mine but scare wont work and brick d device

mine after update is v1.38

In all my experience rooting phones from Samsung , HTC, Sony, CSL etc yet to even hear phone kena brick due to rooting. Flashing firmware possible but is usually user fault for failing to use right firmware or shortcut procedures
Rooting will either succeed of fail. It won't brick as no data is ever deleted from your phone
Try the CWM than root method I posted

Make sure your phone at least 50% charge before doing it
