If you can stand the smell of cocoa butter, Palmer's actually works pretty well (considering the price is pretty cheap too).

I've tried another one which is really good but you can hardly get it in Malaysia - Erbaorganics Mom-to-Be Stretch Mark Cream. I got it from my sis in US, and now I carry this product in my baby web store, selling at RM53.90 per tube (125g).

The key not to have stretch marks is that, whenever you feel itchy, don't scratch it! besides applying lotion or cream or oil. You can put on some powder too when the itch is going too much smile.gif

what I understand is ... stretchmarks are genetic. If your mum or family members have it... u will prob have it to. It's about the elasticity of your skin you were born with. Some people NEVER need to put anything and has no problems at all.

U can put strechmark creams religiously everyday since the day you found out you are pregnant and still get stretch marks. Or you can forget about it at all and never get anything.

But the stretchmark cream MAY assist to lighten or reduce the visibility of it.

Most stretchmark creams or Creams are supposed to work BEFORE your skin is actually stretched. Just like how you would want to moisten your dry lips before you open wide.. or it will crack if it's dry. So you will need to prep your skin around your belly, underbelly, back, thighs etc for the stretching that it will face in the months to come. If you're only doing it when you're itchy.. then it may be a bit too late.

One of the ways to reduce stretchmarks is.. to gain weight slowly. If possible, avoid sudden excess weight gain which would require your skin to suddenly stretch suddenly. Aim for gradual weight gain to help your skin get accustomed to being stretched gently.

Alot of people have recommended Olive oil, coconut oil, bio-oil, palmers, Bud's, etc.

My wife is using everything and anything. including normal creams every morning and night. Have no idea if it'll work. Good also, hopefully she'll finally finish all the creams that she has bought over the years.

Be careful with oils as they may stain your shirts and require special cleaning.

I think stretchmarks will fade after a while. from purple to whiteish skin colour.

Okay, here's my personal experience. The first time I was pregnant, I used Palmer's and Bio-Oil. Palmer's however not religiously, i got stretch marks, still.

The 2nd time I was pregnant, I used Erbaorganics, no stretch marks at all! So I believe Erbaorganics really worked for me.

First i used bio oil - reduce the marks but makes me feel more itchy

Vaselin + baby oil - less itchy but marks became worse.

VCO from Tanamera - less marks but still itchy

palmers cocoa butter - smells good, reduce marks but makes my skin more itchy.

I now using Pureen anti stretch marks... it works like a charm.. my strecth marks has lessen and the best part is NO ITCHINESS!!!! rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

Stretch mark is what we call striae gravidarum, occurs as part of physiological change of the body to pregnancy. In regards to whether genetic plays a role, it's kinda hard to say. But studies found that when mother has stretch marks during her pregnancy, then her daughter might have it during her pregnancy. Ultimately, stretch mark is due to mechanical stretching which results in the rupture of the fibres in the dermis. It could also be due to increased hormone glucocorticoid in the body.

As to how to reduce it, trofolastin cream applied daily plays a significant role.

alot of article said the same thing.if mother dont have sure daughter also dont have... but i choose not to believe it. I asked my mom whether she has a stretch marks or not. my mom has given biorth to 4 kids. and im the third one... apparently.. she doesnt have any single marks on her belly!!!!
i myself witness her belly... her skin is so beautiful... smooth with NO scars at all.

it happens otherwise on me... my marks is worse and it looks like a watermelon skin. sad.gif

As I said, genetic might play a role. But till date it is inconclusive. There might be a lot of articles out there, depending on what u wanna believe and whether it's trustworthy or reliable or not. I'm just laying the facts from evidence based medicine.

im using the mothercare brand one "its your body"
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

other than that i also use johnson n johnson cream frequently. i switch between the regular pink bottle one or the body care one.

i apply about every 6hours. usually before i go to work, after i got back from work, everytime after i bathe and before i sleep.
the stretch mark cream i usually apply near my hip line/bikini line, i apply around there up to the side of my waist.
then the regular lotions all over around my belly, around the breast, armpit there and above the breast (chest area), and also around my inner thighs.

im not sure it's because i put on these creams so religiously or because it's just me. im at my 8th month now, delivering next month and so far (touch wood x my fingers) i havent had any stretch mark yet (although my mum had them)

I've had stretch marks since puberty and been trying all sorts of oils and creams, but always hate the feeling.Dermalmd Stretch Mark Cream feels so nice, I can put it on without feeling sticky or too oily. I'll give it 3 months as suggested to see the results.

I have been using Dermelastic serum I have noticed a big improvement in my stretch marks. They are not as deep or as wide. I have used many other products including some very expensive products and I have not had the results I am seeing with Dermelastic. I should also mention that my stretch marks are from 25 years ago, I wish I had found this serum years ago.

I used dermelastic serum during pregnancy to prevent stretch marks, and it worked! My mom had a lot of stretch marks, so I was paranoid. I rubbed this on diligently twice a day and made it through pregnancy without any stretch marks. It also has a nice smell, particularly compared to a couple other stretch mark creams I tried

you don't have to pay extra money for a cream. Why not taking a natural oilor a mixture of oils. You may melt beeswax mixing it up with oils.

I used Dermalmd stretch mark serum during pregnancy and after. I was so impressed! With my first child I got stretch marks, not only did this serum help fade them slightly (not disappear), it also prevented me from getting any new ones during my second pregnancy! I don't believe I got any stretchmarks at all from my second child. This truly does what it says, and it's worth every penny. It arrived on time, and as expected.

Hi SweeBoon,
Plan to buy the Erbaorganics Mom-to-Be Stretch Mark Cream for my wife.
Do you still selling this in your baby web store? Your baby website address is?

After my sister got pregnant she was looking for a cream to help with all the stretch marks she had (she’s petite and had a big baby boy). After trying several other creams with poor results dermalmd was the stretch mark serum that worked! It smells fantastic and it works great! A little on the pricey side, but for what it does it is well worth it! I definitely recommend dermalmd to anyone with stretch marks!

Some studies have shown that there are no skincare products that can significantly improve the appearance of stretch marks.

Only certain ingredients like plant oils can help to keep your skin soft and supple during pregnancy and also reduce the appearance of the stretch marks.

Here are some of the plant oils that you can consider taking a look at are:

1) Sunflower oil
2) Coconut oil
3) Jojoba oil
4) Meadowfoam seed oil
5) Grape seed oil
6) Rosehip oil
7) Olive oil
8) Argan oil
9) Chia seed oil
10) Evening primrose oil

All these plant oils are non-fragrant and perfect for mummies with sensitive skin.

There are also quite a few other ingredients that you can use during your pregnancy period to keep your skin looking glowing and radiant. You can read more about them here: Pregnancy and Skin: A Guide For Moms-To-Be

i agree!
natural oils are the best.
it is just to find the right oil for you to get the fastest effect.

for my wife, she used virgin olive oil.
she also consumed orally virgin coconut oil.

I have tried many different products, and dermalmd stretch mark serum has been the only one that has ever really made a difference. I started using it a couple of months ago on some stretch marks I have had since I was a teenager. It is amazing how faint they are now. Very happy with the product and would strongly recommend to anyone.

Stretch marks often appear later during pregnancy as the skin stretches as a result of weight gain, and to accommodate the growing baby and uterus.

Attention!. If you really want to get rid of stretch marks rapidly, you should once follow the guideline that I have provided you below.

This
Pregnancy Belly Cream is a luxurious blend of pure plant extracts that work to nourish and moisturize the skin. Fast-absorbing Belly Cream helps Pregnant bellies by making it soothe itchily and prevent skin from stretch marks. The aromatherapy benefit of lavender soothes and calms the senses as you spray and massage made with organic cocoa butter plus 11 organic oils. Especially for pregnant ladies. Ladies sometimes feel insecure to discuss their pregnancy problems.

For stretch marks, you must have to try tummy butter for stretch marks , as it's best seller cream online. It will take time to get rid of stretch marks permanently

Hi heinlein, if you're still looking for a stretch mark cream, perhaps you can try Palmer's Cocoa Butter Massage Lotion! It's formulated with Vitamin E and a generous amount of Cocoa Butter - highly moisturizing without the tackiness. Feel free to reply/ pm me to try the product for free if you'd like to do so! Cheers!
