TO change oil is not difficult but you gonna have a mean to dispose the dirty oil as well. The dirt, the oily stain, etc....just pay RM10-Rm15 outside, take care of everything.

1. Engine Oil (don't use Minyak Masak Knife Brand, low cholesterol does not work for car)
2. Oil Filter
3. Spark Plug
4. Gear Oil
5. Brake Fluid
6. Air Filter
7. Coolant Change

Oh....regarding the rant I post last week....

Turned out cheaper than I tot to change the Thermostat Seal (yeah got the name now)....RM47++ that includes RM30 for that bottle of coolant (acceptable), workman ship RM15 and the rubber ring abt RM2+ in total....Still sore tho on the no warranty thingy...can at least save the RM15 workmanship.

And putting the car from 10:30am till 4.30pm only fixed that coolant leak (including waiting for car to cool....2 hours). They got NO TIME to fix their lousy pemasangan steering cover. So my steering still quek quek all the way.

Thankfully they agree to change the air-cond knob set for me (the blinking light thingy) although they cannot replicate the problem but they do know very well on PE air cond knob issues. So another 2-3 weeks to stand the quek quek sound before going warranty change for the knobs and steering clock spring.

Actually what is the coolant : water dilution ratio? 1/3 coolant, 2/3 water.

What abt Proton coolant ratio? Last time, I pour almost 2/3 bottle to refill without adding water ASSUMING the coolant to be pre-mixed. Wasted RM30, have to drain it all out.

There are so many posts within the last thread and probably this that HAD INDICATED the consumption meter in our PE is extremely inaccurate. Bet you missed all of these posts. So many posts also indicated using Fuelly like those in my sig here to auto-calculate the avg when we pumped petrol. Very accurate average.

I got a rubber softener too, maybe the same brand, used to rub in on the rear door rubber with it is making quaking sound when I go thru bump. The white liquid looks a bit like semen if splash on the leather seat. Anyway it works, rub it 2nd time in a few months when sound comes back.....than sound never comes back, don't know why.

Partially agree. Mod will not necessary increase FC nor will it reduce FC without incurring a cost somewhere. I can safely conclude the LCP mod DOES NOT increase my FC, still stay the same BUT with much faster gear change and increased torque and low to mid-end. Like Zen mentioned before, it does not increased HP or even torque from nothing....it just push the higher torque that usually comes from mid-range to the low end.

End result is a lose of power at high end, minor increased of vibration and noise (all cons) but great increased on low-mid end pickup and the great satisfaction of NOT allowing the darn turtles and gagas from jumping my queue in the jam. The cons might stop someone from modding it but with PE great setback of low-end torque, its an extremely useful mod and the pro will greatly outweight the cons overtime.

Don't look down on those satisfaction feeling coz it contribute to stress and driving enjoyment. These factors now makes me love driving PE (except for the FC).......without the LCP, I've been cursing all along and quite embarrassed abt its low end pickup when my wife refused to drive it complaining its pickup is like turtle (not the myvi....the real living turtle). Now even my wife commented the car pickup is a good and quite ok with driving it occasionally although its low end pickup is nowhere near my 06 city.

My 2 cents, PE seems to get optimum torque at abt 100km/h ~ 120km/h as opposed to standard 80~90km/h due to our engine torque vs car weight performance ratio.

So I believe if you run 80-90+km/h at highway with PE, you'll actually get higher FC vs those running at 100~120km/h. Anything above that is gonna start makan minyak as well. For any other standard car, probably cruising at 90km/h will get lower FC instead. So our PE a bit special on highway run.

Also for those weighting LCP cons of lower high end torque.....how many times you used the speed of 150km/h and above (that's high end speed for me) vs the huge number of times you used it at low end.....I would say 1 to 1000 in favour of low end usage of torque. Of course if you like to race LONG distance a lot and win....you should forgo LCP mod.

I think my 140km/h is abt 3.8k rpm.....

Oii...you using Work LCP kah....if yes, I would not advise hitting 5K rpm coz its very near the range where you'll produce harmonic resonance that can seriously damage your engine with Work LCP. If using Mytheo ok coz got the harmonic dispenser..

Normally I look at RPM also but with PE....I'm not sure coz it somehow gives me the feeling of working differently than any of my Hondas and even proton wira and iswara. This is the first car I notice that produce better fc at 110km/h vs 80~90km/h.....

I also want to as that Mytheo is my main target initially but Works pricing in bulk is too attractive at that time....did not know it actually produce more vibration than Mytheo at that time. Regretted after that but Works to work except for that harmonic thingy if runs at high speed.

Now Mytheo is abt RM600~700....pokai liao. Cannot afford currently. Have to reserved lots of dough to shift house next year. Some more since Works still works, I can use that $$$ to go for 2 nights of "escort" services....if desperate..

Wait....maybe wrong info....I think it might be around 7K rpm for harmonic resonance to happen....if I'm not wrong. I think I read or here that it might happen on 5.5K for our PE, maybe from Drex when I talk to him during installation but I could be wrong, it might be 7K rpm after all.

Only comparison and possibilities but I no guts to destroy my serene family life with outside interference.......yet.

Errr....just check back the post abt a year ago or something....its abt RM550 including installation at drex's place.

If high rev a lot, don't know the crankshaft will crack or not if the harmonic resonance for PE is at 5.5K rpm. It should be this range if I remember correctly what drex mentioned for PE but don't take my word for it coz not 100% sure, old liao, memory going.

Its been quite a while, I might remember it wrongly, 5.5K rpm for campro engine only....either that or its the general 7K rpm. With mytheo or stock CP with its dampener as you know, this is a non-issue.

Out fuel needle is unlike other cars that goes by how much we got left in our tank. Ours high tech wan.....using predictive technology that measure how much your fuel left will last based on the way you tekan, pecut and henti vs fuel left in tank. High tech in budget car. We should appreciate its leading edge tech usage.....

Last time I tot Proton testing bleeding edge of technology that can generate fuel from its escaped gas or whatever that adds to the fuel balance....alas....

All my panalites MF batteries lasted over 2 years. I don't think wet batteries necessarily lasted longer than the newer MF batteries esp. the good ones, panalite or something. Last time I used wet batt, gp or etc, kong after just one year. IMO, there is no point getting the more troublesome (have to check water level) wet batteries unless you're broke since wet batteries are cheaper. CHanged all my cars batts to MF since then, have very little problem with it when compared with wet batts last time, coz occasionally batteries dried up.....also lasted 1-3 years, no difference from my current mf.

If you're using manual, I wonder how you pass your car driving test....shifting into reverse while driving manual is very difficult

If you're driving auto, I wonder why you want to shift gear manually while driving....
