QUOTE(Phonzy @ Jan 14 2015, 12:23 AM) This is ridiculous . I have never experienced such downtime when I was with Unifi. Hopefully you are on landed property with direct fiber. Ethernet cable to Port0 of the BTU/ONU and they will give u useless L7 router (which you will curse as it will slow down if you area is congested with WiFi) and tada, you are on UNiFi.I'm switching back. How long does it take to get a Unifi person to my house tomorrow and just get it installed and used? Good luck! ======================= User from Bukit Mertajam area here. The webpage browsing speed is improving and youtube is getting better (will still buffer at the beginning for 3-5 secs). VPN into local server - no issue on the speed. |

I am on Maxis and below are some consideration before I migrated from Unifi to Maxis
a) BTU kaput and need replacement - the procedure will take ages, Workaround is to find backup BTU (same brand) and configure it your self. b) Maxis router - very sucky in term of torrenting and WiFi, but easy solution. It can be replaced with custom router c) Fiber network at your place down, this will take ages too since priority will be given to Unifi subscriber. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Jan 21 2015, 06:04 PM) If you want to torrent, you need to request for public ip once your installation is done. Without it, you wont be torrenting. I think with private IP, we are also able to do torrenting. Previously I was on private IP and my torrent is flying the whole day (even at 8pm). However I realized the stock Maxis gateway (Thomson)was not able to do port forwarding to my static IP server. But with TPlink router, no issue on port forwarding.I think FTTH is ok with me so far. Only complaint would be slow loading of video shared on FB and sometimes even Youtube at night. But right now I have move to public IP as well to allow me to access the router from office. |
