Mine does too..but not that often coz I didnt go over bumps/potholes at speed..I've read about 1 guy that persistently have this problem even after repairing it & I gave an extra attention when test driving and the test drive car also have this problem just like u mentioned..what do u think? How's ur Skyactive D doing?
*
Yeah , okay I won't make any warranty on this until later when almost ending ahaha . Now everything is tight and setup nicely from factory I rather not fiddle with it unless absolutely necessary

Diesel is great , due for first 1000km service then can open up the taps fully

Gearbox this morning was behaving extremely jerky in traffic jam , either holding gears too long until nearly stall or sudden downshift when already rolling lurching the car forward

Throwing tantrum before coming 1000km service this Saturday , will mention to service and update here the reply

I had clarify with sales at setia city mall road show, year make 2017 solved the issue. I also test the car 2017 make to go through several speed bump at a speed of 30-40km/h. I didn't hear it. So I assume it is solved.

Okay , good to know

just test driven the m6 2.2 diesel turbo in SCCC mazda carnival, the power from low-end to high-end is damn good, i can easily reached 140km/h at the highway in front of setia city convention center there and the car is fully loaded with 5 people include me

it got a right balance between power + comfort, a very good car to drive for such big car, usually i dont like to drive D segment because it tends to lose the driving feel when the purpose of D segment is usually more to comfort, but i would say m6 2.2D is totally different

and not to mention that, even though it is just using conventional torque converter, but it shift as fast as a DSG, and the shifting is very smooth and linear power delivery, which is way different from my m3 skyactiv that has slightly slower shifting compare to m6, i wonder if they use a different gearbox or different tuning hmm.gif
*
Diesel powahhhh

There's very little many other cars could do to keep up with me on highway , all those tailgaters when traffic clears ahead , they are just surprised and start to weave to get and get ahead but just can't keep up

you driving 2.2D? the power is really amazing, can feel the G-force push me against the seat but not extreme like those sport cars

those tailgater is usually those lala saga and myvi, they couldn't keep up with my m3 when driving >140km/h as well

2.2D is on par with BMW already
*
Yup , I have the 2.2

Actually bmw anything less the a x30, badge , can't keep up except the 330e , that also has no chance. The rest of x30 and above are normally 6 cylinder 3 litres.

Year make 2016..2017 model..not sure if the 2017 year make will solve it..from what the SA told me they are totally the same, except for year make 2017..

But if u already manage to test drive the 2017 year make and not hearing the sound, thats good..maybe i should inform the SA on my next visit to the service centre and let them have a look at it..
*
I'm a bit wary of the 2017'claim because as far as I know , there are no 2017 year of make cars in Malaysia because stockyard still full with 2016 year of make .

Actually it does. When I went to setia mall last week, SA told me that no more stock of 2016 years make. As to my understanding, year make 2016 had 2 batches, 1 batch without GVC and 1 with GVC. Don't know la, SA said that.

But 1 thing confirm is the one I tested, really no sound. Before I tested the car, i brought up this issue to SA, she confidently answered my question. It looks like she well prepared.. I said I wanted to test drive the car to proof your claim. Before testing,I told my wife (she sit at the back) pay attention to the weird sound from suspension when went through bump. As a result, my wife and I didn't heard anything annoying. Therefore, I believed there was another batch that Mazda Japan had solved it. The SA said the suspension was upgraded but no specific which part was upgraded.

Well, maybe I spend more time to find out when I get my car. I'll update here again.
*
Then again it is six months into the year already , they should have reduced enough to bring in 2017 model.

And it's the front suspension not the rear one by the way.

How much is your on the road ? If it's the new increased price for GVC , then it is 2017. The 2016 GVC was sold with no price increase yet. I.e 2017 OTR is 165,000 onwards vs. 2016 159,000 omwards.

Yes, you are correct. It is front suspension.

My one on the road is RM 208,505.70

2016 make already out of stock during roadshow as claimed by SA.

Nice one bro!  rclxms.gif

Just wanna check with u guys..do u encounter any problem with ur MZD Connect? Sometimes it takes a while to load (seeing that Mazda logo for quite some time) up to few minutes after I started driving. And sometimes the clock just shows 00:00 all the way until I shut the engine. If I set the clock to the right time during this problem, it wont move..lets say the time is 09:00, it wil stay at 09:00..Mine is 2016 year make..what is the latest OS version? Mine is 59.00.330 4A N..maybe those who bought the 2017 year make can share their OS version.  icon_rolleyes.gif

and of course the knock sound at the front shock absorber mounting is still there..

28 ringgit only, and a few hours of sweating.

Bought from Aliexpress, takes 2 weeks to arrive.

Then use tinting tools , heat gun and slowly work the film in. Helps to jack the rear up on to jack stands for better access, i couldn't remove the muffler, so just trim around it , then heat and like wearing a glove use your hand to push the vinyl over and above the muffler tips.

The rest just trial and error stretching, buy two rolls if you mess the first one.

The length must be 200cm width, 30 / 40 cm is plenty.

Tip :

If you get cricket noise from center console, open the hand rest , take off the felt mat at the bottom. You will see two screws at the bottom, take off the two screws and put some insulation between the screw and plastic.

I used fabric wire harness tape doubled up a few times and pierce a hole through it , then put the screw through it and re tightened the screws.

Because the screw and plastic body has no washer or rubber and when the screws works loose it starts to rub and creates cricket noises.

Diagnosis: when you hear the noise , try pushing or pulling th center console to tension it. If the noise goes away , chances are the screw running is the culprit

Tip 2:

For GVC model owners , after your first service make sure the SC does the below procedure to reset the oil change indicator, just resetting the mazda touch screen is not enough. Mine suddenly came on today , asking to change oil , because I saw the tech that did my car only reset the maintenance monitor.

So I just did it myself to clear the warning

Skyactiv D owners , here is some knowledge if you find that istop is not lighted green, I.e no light at all, and the engine is running strangely . MZD shows engine not ready in fuel consumption application.

Don't worry it is not a fault all you got to do is let the engine idle and do its thing while gearbox in neutral.

Injector Learning / Calibration
Posted on February 15, 2011 by subdiesel | 2 Comments
Applies to all known Boxer Diesel models, Euro 4/5/6.
Injector learning (micro quantity calibration) procedure is supposed to improve injection accuracy of small injections, improving vibrations, noise, fuel economy etc. The ECU measures engine speed changes, derives learning values and uses them from there on.

Tiny fuel injections, achieved through very short pulses, are especially sensitive to mechanical wear inside injectors. Remember, the ECU does not know how much fuel is actually being sprayed into the cylinders. However, by measuring acceleration (crankshaft speed changes) after at each cylinder’s power stroke, it can adjust injection pulses to achieve a balance across cylinders.

Normally, a power stroke consists of two or three individual injections, main injection always being the largest one. For micro quantity calibration, the software does things differently. It divides the necessary fuel to hold engine speed into more and evenly small injections so that only short pulses matter and differences in injected amounts can be compensated.
The entire procedure is done in two ways:

Automatically by ECU when idling (~800 rpm), for example at traffic light stop. Takes roughly a minute to complete. Goes through first 4 pressure levels. ECU will try again if it could not finish.
Compulsory using Subaru dealer software (open source solution is planned). In addition, this mode uses higher common rail pressure, revving the engine up to ~1,200 rpm at 5th pressure level which is not acceptable in auto-mode.
Injector Learning Chart

Either way, the operation causes distinct engine sound due to special injection patterns, easy to recognize. Also altering common rail pressure to the next pressure level causes noise to change.

You can use logging (Subaru specific protocols) in order to monitor related parameters:

injector learning status (ON/OFF)
injection quantity learning values [ms] (4 cylinders times 5 pressure levels = 20 values; all zeroes means learning has not been completed successfully)
mileage after last learning [km]
mileage after injector replacement [km]
As usual, all relevant values are being saved into EEPROM.

AUTOMATIC INJECTOR LEARNING INTERVALS
In theory, ECU wants to do automatic injector learning at these predefined intervals:

# Odometer
[km] Interval
[km]
1 50 50
2 200 150
3 350 150
4 950 600
5 1,550 600
6 4,550 3,000
7 7,550 3,000

Confirmed by disassembly from Euro 4/5/6 software. As you can see, the interval is being increased up to 3,000 km.

Above odometer values are theoretical because:

For the ECU mileage after last learning matters, not any absolute odometer value.
If conditions are not met, learning process is being delayed, trying again at next occasion, increasing all further odometer numbers.
ECU internal odometer is not very precise, it will drift off from combination meter odometer over time.
INJECTOR LEARNING CONDITIONS
Basically, engine must be warm, around 80°C coolant temperature. Lots of parameters must be within pre-defined ranges (fuel temperature, accelerator not depressed, battery voltage 12..15 Volts, …).

Automatic learning
3 pressure levels (350, 650, 950 bar = 5080, 9430, 13780 psi)
Learning interval up to 2,000 km.

Compulsory learning
2 additional pressure levels (1400, 1970 bar = 20310, 28570 psi), at increased engine speed.

There's no radio off button, only mute

Why would you need to turn off radio anyways ?

Guys!

Just wanna check with u guys..I noticed that the M6 uses Heavy duty start stop wet cell battery. i'm just curious, do we need to maintain the battery water ourselves or is it being taken care of when we go for mileage sevices?
*
Have to maintain own self , the water does dry up , between service is too long ,

Yes of course , or I buy Spritzer distilled water with the blue labels , that's also distilled water and much cheaper than petrol station and trust worthy is really distilled
