It is easy for developer to update their new roms there and they have their own Goo Manager android app to let users download directly through the app, also will remind users when there is new version.Goo doesn't collect money, it is a free service and most of the time I find it working fine. My device reboot few times after trying adjusting the CPU voltages. After few reboot only then it settles down
