Heard this RE is the best in recent years, as it didnt try to be CoD.
I guess some Japanese publishers like Namco Bandai, Sega, Capcom and Sega are taking PC seriously, as evidently, there is a market where people actually want Japanese games on PC. I will kill just to get Vanquish, Bayonetta and Ni No Kuni on PC. This post has been edited by Cheesenium: Mar 22 2013, 10:09 AM |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Mar 22 2013, 10:05 AM) Hope so. previous re 5 and 6 is too much rambo oriented. which make it juz another 3rd PS game.Tight corner, scarce ammo, dark/gloomy environment, evasion timing and jill boobs/ass = Must buy!! |

Resident Evil: Revelations demo hits May 14
QUOTE A Resident Evil: Revelations demo will launch May 14 on Xbox Live, eShop, Steam, and PlayStation Network, Capcom announced today. PSN users in Europe will get the demo May 15. Capcom did not provide any details regarding what will be featured in the demo outside of giving players a sample of the "claustrophobic hallways of the Queen Zenobia." Resident Evil: Revelations launches May 21 and is expected to sell 1.2 million copies worldwide by the end of March 2014. The game originally launched as a 3DS-exclusive in February 2012. Gamespot |

So after this is released, what do you guys think Capcom have in plan for RE series? RE7, RE Outbreak or HD port of RE 1,2,3? For me, I really wish they will port over the Gamecube RE1 remake and RE0. I sooo want to play them over any RE7 if they keep changing RE into action game than survival horror

Long time ago, almost all third person games has camera style that are right behind the character (Time Commando, Perfect Weapon, Heretic 2, Tomb Raider, Die by the Sword, etc) then came Resident Evil 1 with its strategic placement camera style. At that time, it was fresh, revolutionary and able to produce a sense of amazement and horror as you cannot see what lurk outside the camera angle. The control was awkward by today standard of course seeing how the character would "spin" 360 at the same spot and unable to shoot & strafe/walk but it added to the sense of danger and challenge. I actually fear the appearance of any monsters because I know I might not be able to shoot them fast enough due to the awkward control and its high/low aim without manual aiming like RE4 onward. You have to aim just right to bring them down and those damn cerberus or hunter is really fast! One miss shot and off goes my head sliced by the hunter greeted by the all too familiar "YOU DIED" game over screen..haha. And boy, the ammo was scarce, I had to leg it on several occasions chased by them group of monsters or worse knife it. My heart practically bumping as a whole bunch of hunters running to get me as I frantically look for the next door to escape in that tight narrow corridor with the awkward "no dodge" running control. And my health condition even affect my running speed, imagine if you're poisoned, every wrong door without that blue herb will kill me. Only when I reach a safe room, do I feel peace with its soothing music and my storage box to calm me down. There is no checkpoints, every ink ribbon save counts so I need to think twice should I save now or later after I made a run for that ammo I see back there in the room filled with monsters! Those moments bring fear, those moments are what I called survival horror! And so yep, I'm one of them few who likes the old control playstyle too
RE6 isn't a failed game to me. It was an entire different experience. It was an action game instead of the survival horror that I love about RE. If I were to look at it as an action game, I say it's a success. The control is great for an action game, it has one button melee combat, quick shoot, counter-attack, manual aiming, dodge and drop to the floor aiming, barrel roll, quick weapon change and healing, cover system and ducking. The new monsters are a breathe of fresh air, zombies are back, various campaigns with different atmosphere, fast-paced, over the top action scenes which some are pretty intense, etc. It's a great co-op experience once I'm bored of Gears of War or Left 4 Dead. Revelations is what I consider a bit of mix old school and new school. It has RE4 manual aiming control system yet try to retain the ammo scarcity of old school games, storage box (so you don't go carrying tons of weapons like in RE6..haha) and the infamous puzzles of "crank and emblem". It appeal to people who want back a little survival horror experience that is not available in Resident Evil 6. That would be me Now I wonder how will RE7 be like... |

So, no any news from this game..I guess no more hype then...
By the way, just a bit thing I wanna share.. I decided to make some 'exploration' of the game demo files (I got no full game on Steam)... I managed to extract the 3D model of Jill Valentine, completed with textures along with handgun.. I believe this game is mod-able, like replacing characters with other characters, but not sure if it can cause problem or not, can't figure it out yet, but judging the structure of the in-game files, it is technically possible, only require some tweaking for compatibility..I think replacing textures would have no problem..if I can somehow edit this 3D model and import back to the game with no error, this is probably a good thing in modding the game.. ![]() Supposedly, I was planning to make a ragdoll model and port it to for Garry's Mod, but I need to learn the faceposing and rigging first..Not sure how long, and probably right now somebody is on the way in porting the models earlier than me..I would probably seek an advice for model porting in other forum then.. By the way, I wanna get 3D model of sexy Jessica wetsuit model.. So, in case anyone has full game, I wish somebody can send to me the characters models file that is located in Steam directory (...nativePC\archive\game\chara\) and I wanna rip the 3D models.. |

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 stars Claire Redfield and Barry Burton's daughter
QUOTE Yep, this post brings you the latest information pertaining to Resident Evil's story. Yes, Resident Evil does have a story. The lastest incarnation in the series, Resident Evil: Revelations 2, stars Claire Redfield and Moira Burton. Claire Redfield's a series regular you might be familiar with already, but Moira is a new character related to an old one - namely burly Barry Burton, he of "master of unlocking" fame. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Here's some highlights; Revelations 2 can be played solo or co-op, and takes place between Resi 5 and 6. It's more survival horror and less action, and features a new “Afflicted” enemy type, which “may look like zombies, but are in fact something quite different,” according to producer Michiteru Okabe. These Afflicted dudes are tough, which means you might want to avoid taking them head on. Stealth takedowns are an option, if you can get close enough. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is out early 2015 on PC and last-gen consoles. Source: Strategy Informer |

Revelations 2 will be episodic like Walking dead game by telltale.
Separate to 4 episode. Retail disc will release once all episode are out.... man this is bad for my RE disc collection.... |

Oh...episodic, eh? Then I hope they are able to complete all 4 episodes then. Some games never complete their episodic cycle and leave you with a cliffhanger ending like Half-Life 2 and Sin. Well, at least, we have RE1 remake to keep us occupied while waiting for the Revelations 2 disc to be released so that's not too bad

Dead Rising 2 and Resident Evil 5 to be moved over to Steamworks next year
QUOTE It's a mass zombie outbreak on Steamworks - Capcom's undead-smiting hits Resident Evil 5, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising: Off the Record are all migrating over to Valve's platform "early next year". These are the latest Games For Windows Live titles to make the switch to a server framework people generally don't despise with every fibre of their being. They follow Relic's Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II - Chaos Rising, which completed the same transition last week. GFWL, Microsoft's much-maligned gaming service, shut down earlier this year, leaving several popular multiplayer games without online functionality. Capcom is one developer working to solve the problem, but it's not going to be a swift process. "Current owners of these PC titles will be transitioned over to the Steamworks versions early next year," reads a post on Capcom's blog. "Once we have specific dates ironed out, we'll have more information about all three titles and their respective launch days so stay tuned." We'll keep an eye out for any further updates. Hmmm, since the new game will be on an episodic basis. I will probably just get the game once the all episodes have been released.
Potentially similar to Borderlands GOTY type of arrangement. |

Beside the RE1 remake and revelations 2, I can see inevitably Resident Evil 0 HD is their next target

It's soooo frigging dark!! Are they trying to go for a Doom 3 atmosphere here?
What's up with that rechargeable battery torchlight? What is this? Alan Wake? Why can't the torchlight stay lit for hours instead of a few minutes? Also, stick that damn torchlight to the handgun with a duct tape please if you can't dual wield. Don't make Moira useless by having her hold the torchlight, make her more useful and grab ammo, do healing or shoot stuff like in RE5. Those fleshy zombies are fast!!! I wonder if we can slow them down by shooting at their legs... If not, Claire better not have a short stamina bar. I will hates to be caught up by them. |
