enable sharing on both platform. get the username & password for sharing of the PC.
on ur mac press CMD + K type in "smb://the PC computer name" or "smb://the IP address". then connect. it'smore complicated to do it on the PC. hate winXP. simple things make difficult. This post has been edited by wei: Apr 10 2006, 04:18 PM |

You dont even need AppleTalk protocol ,
Just go to system prefs , and select Sharing and then put a tick on Windows Sharing. OSX would load Samba and all those stuff Once its done , go to Finder [aka Desktop] , select Go and select Connect to Server and type smb://Computer name or smb://IP Address for example smb://windows-948343 or smb://10.0.1.5 |

i think what antidote mean is to conenct from a PC to a Mac.
prasys, enable Window Sharing when u want to allow PC users to connect to your mac. And it doesnt load anything to the PC. You have to get ready all the stuff yourself on the PC end. And the guide u mentioned are for Mac to connect to a PC. This post has been edited by wei: May 16 2006, 08:52 AM |
