Well at least the story is progressing forward instead of going in circles.

I read that the director didnt even play the game, so he just crammed all SoL bits in the first cour then move on with war stuff the next.

To be honest the original VN is better than anime adaption ( It features interesting TRPG gameplay interwine with the story) but those with less time can still watch the anime. Just note that Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen was directed by this guy

wow.. never expect this has back dated since 2006. however i'm abit skeptical that they can finish it in this storyline as if they are taking their own sweet time telling the story... or just rush it thru when comes to end.

U meant Mask of Truth? From VN novel reader point of view they are definitely rushing ald. Every ep this season is packed with events just weren't sure if they squeeze 50hrs+ VN nicely into 28 episodes. I can only say there is more to come.
One thing for sure, the ost will be lit.

Every time this song plays I still cry. Next week will be the finale, they will broadcast both ep 27 and 28. Well anime only now will know how this season ed fits perfectly for Kuon's feelings.
