The story takes place in the world surrounded by nature such as forests. In this world, there is the mankind almost looks like the human being, but it has ears and a tail like an animal. One day, Eruru who lives in a village of marginal region saves a masked young man lying serious injured. Fortunately, he narrowly escapes from the death, but he has lost his memory. Tuskle, the grandmother of Eruru, names him Hakuoro. Soon, this encounter will make them lead checkered lives.

This anime is based on Leaf/Aquaplus H-Game Utawarerumono and have a serious tone to it because there is a war happening.

The main guy has lost his memory, and in the game he should be the war tactician protecting the village from invaders as his gratitude for saving him.

Not bad for the 1st ep, 2nd goin to be more better I hope.

i think it's a great anime considering it's adapted from a h-game.

BTW, its ED single was out recently

well some animu are underated..

Indeed this is much underrated here...I'm currently watching this together with Haruhi Suzumiya and I think the former is much more interesting (yet see how many people respond in that thread but not this)

I guess it boils down to personal opinion at the end of the day. If you're talking about cutesy characters then I think Utawarerumono's characters are much more appealing and interesting. Haruhi is just crap IMO (so don't come flaming me)
