So here's the official confirmation on how the Xbox One works -

- You can share games with your friends provided that they've been your friend for at least a month (on your friendlist at least) and each game can ONLY be given ONCE.
- Games on your Xbox One can be accessed by anyone in your household, no matter their relation to you or whether they are using your profile or not.
- You can trade-in and resell your games, MS has given the decision to publishers for them to work out how they want their games to be resold with "participating" retailers. In Malaysia, a place where MS doesn't care about: this means that we're shit out of luck (for now at least) to resell games.
- Kinect's privacy settings can be adjusted, will NOT record any sort of audio or video if you do not want it to (LOL, always assume you're being recorded regardless of what a company says).
- You can turn off Kinect when gaming, unless the game needs the device.
- The Xbox One needs to be connected to the internet every 24 hours, otherwise games will cease to work... but you can still watch LIVE TV. Wtf? If you're going to watch live TV, you might as well be logged on.
- If you're logged onto your account on a different Xbox One, the console needs to be connected to the internet at least every 1 hour for authentication.
I have been waiting for clarification on the concept of 2nd hand discs and I have to say that I hate the DRM systems and policies that they have announced so far for the xbone. I'm old skool - i like game discs and i like the idea of owning something. I mean this is the main reason why I'm not big time on steam/pc. Gives me even less of a reason to refresh the pasar malam page in the stickies.
In regards to the sharing, I'm thinking that typically cheapskate Malaysians will exploit this to the max. Based on what microsoft have published, this means we can form x-box family clubs? 1 disc for 10 gamertags/xboxes. This is what our neighbours in the PS3 section did with their 5 console limits on downloads.
