QUOTE(efaceninja @ Jan 25 2014, 12:42 AM) owhh, how many KMs you've done on the K&N in your i10?? any fuss with the SC ppl when you regular service? Almost closed to 10k km. Nope. Did my regular servicing last round which does not include changing of air filter yet but they next one will. Side note, kinda hard to get for our model. |

QUOTE(Ultima @ Feb 12 2014, 09:02 AM) how much did u pay for maintenance service at sc? Normal servicing using Semi Synthetic is about Rm150 or so. Every 5k. Minor servicing will cost more - every 20k km (about RM5xx). Major will cost even more=40k km (RM8xx). If time correctly, servicing during promotion period is much more cheaperhigher than myvi? planning to get one for my wife, price similar to myvi, but need to consider maintenance service charge |

QUOTE(mfizal @ Jun 9 2014, 05:37 PM) Eh really..? I just went to service my i10 for 40k, major one. 20k and 40k are both major service, both costing more or less 500-600. If you get quoted for 800, be careful as the service dealer might be adding optional/recommended things up without informing you, so do check properly. 20k is minor as only few stuff are changed (can't recall the exact things they changed). 40k is major cause more stuff being changed. But the charges may vary due to some stuff may still can be used thus do not require it to be changed. Optional stuff as usual are removed. And also not to mention, during promotion period, usually servicing is way cheaper than usual. For a complete list of items for service and maintenance, you can check here (may not be up to date but useful): CODE http://www.hyundai.com.my/Maintenance.aspx Btw go for service on wednesdays, I notice quite a few service centers offering free labor on wednesday. P.S, i usually service at Hyundai SC Glenmarie (their labor charges is slightly more compare to those authorized one) This post has been edited by Lacus: Jun 10 2014, 11:12 PM |

QUOTE(mfizal @ Jul 2 2014, 12:08 PM) Owh yea kan, I remembered 40k also change spark plugs etc. Well those that overcharged are authorized Service center. They tend to add everything into service without asking customer. As far as i know, our spark plug are not common size. Not sure if iridium has special size for our i10 (mine is facelift version, bought Jan 2012) Negative feedbacks are normal in the FB group since i'm there too. K&N filter is worthy, i have already changed mine and for me it's pretty worthy since i do not need to change it very often as my work requires me to travel alot.Btw I've read some.. err a lot of negative stuffs on i10 owners club on FB. I dunno if it's just me or they're just expecting too much from their cars Anyway Lacus may I know if I change to spark plugs to iridium, would it void warranty? I don't plan to DIY, would probably ask authorized SC to do that. I'm also interested with K&N filter but dunno if it's worth it in the long run for the car.. It does seem worth the money though since no need to change filter anymore |

QUOTE(mfizal @ Jul 2 2014, 02:59 PM) Yup the spark plug's non-standard. Stock model for i10 1.25 (facelift 2011>) is Champion RER8YC. I did some researching & found some probable replacements: Denso iridium IXUH22i / VXUH22, NGK PLKR7A. No confirmation until I try first, also dunno about the gapping etc.. Owh ok haha so the FB page is normal that way. Well if it's shorter i heard will cause starting issues. Mine bought from SG so it's way cheaper. Well cleaning requires one to get the K&N cleaning kit. Too bad no other washable aftermarket air filter like Redline :/Did you bought your K&N filter here on LYN? I got few quotes, quite pricey, probably since not easy to get here. Have you tried cleaning the filter..? I've been reading comments that cleaning up is really troublesome unlike K&N's claim that it's simple |

QUOTE(rowentan @ Jul 15 2014, 11:51 AM) Mine had a loud rattle from the engine bay. Upon inspection, i found that the original air filter box was kinda crappy because the metal clip securing the air filter was loose allowing the cover to rattle. I've got a CDA styled air filter lying around my house (previously from my old waja). So I i removed the i10 original air filter and replaced it with the CDA filter... problem solved and no more noisy i10. As a bonus, i get better acceleration and fuel economy. Good for you bro. Which model is yours? pre facelift? |
