slightly for fun or self satisfaction maybe. but not really if u spend too much money, nvh will never on par with higher segment. better keep the money for future car upgrade.
after your sound proof improved, probably more sound will be significant. when you fix a sound, you will hear another soon. most know that, but most also trying hard.

QUOTE(siong630 @ Mar 19 2013, 08:34 PM) hi everyone, my car is a cheap flx, as you all know the soundproof really sucks, so i am wondering is it worth to spend some money to do the soundproof to the car? is the effect significant? anyone who has his car soundproofed, do you recommend to others? did you regret? please share your experience, thanks QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Mar 24 2013, 04:44 PM) you need to be firm and clear on what you want and what you're getting. let me ask you this, to fully sound proof a car typically cost between rm1k to 10k or so. any "higher segment" car with DECENT STOCK sound proofing cost between 100-300k and beyond not including a long term high interest rate bank loan. do you need mathematics lessons to calculate which is cheaper? nvh will never on par with higher segmenti am just trying to tell TS that even he is willing to spend much, it will not be on par with those better car. why are u quoting me, trying to ask me, and trying to be a financial advisor and trying to talk about loan interest? i dont need mathematics lesson, but u probably need english lesson. please read and understand i) TS question. ii) my answer - before you trying to show your so called pro-ness here. actually whats wrong with u? butt hurt? just my 2 cents.

QUOTE(smokey @ Mar 24 2013, 11:37 PM) i sound proof my BLM doors...did not notice much difference...passing motorbike sound maybe reduced 5% the noisiest part is still from the firewall and tires... basic car is basic car...upgrade till max, u still cant make the car feel premium...with all the money spent on upgrading, better get a better car from the beginning yup, those claiming soundproof improve this and that by %%%% is really subjective. unless the expectation is real low, then spending few K for it might be worth. i have done soundproof on my blm before, there is improvement. but lol, even a stock persona can pawn it upside down.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Mar 25 2013, 10:21 AM) here's the thing: NVH improvement can easily exceed a higher segment stock car when done properly. those jobs will require stripping your car down to the bare metal chassis and slowly apply various materials to them similarly how a luxury car such as BMW/audi/merc would have, and those sorta sound proofing/insulation is definitely not available on supposedly "higher segment" such the 120-160k range c/entry d segment cars. so what i am saying here is when you are putting down absurd figures (eg: 10k) into sound proofing, you can easily exceed a higher segment (eg: civic/altis being c segment) car despite being a lowly saga. do look into the matter before starting your hostilities and playing around with various forum colors ts ask a question, i stated my opinion. then someone try to lecture about loan interest for 200k-300k car so who started it first? a heavily soundproofed saga can pawn a stock teana in nvh? i dont think so. not even on par with sylphy. it is just my opinion. no need quote and tell me teana cost 140K. saga + 20K only 60K.

TS probably wanted only some decent sound proof to improve his ride road, rattle and vibration noise. if not then better move thread for ICE expert to advice for which sound sytem and where to soundproof first. blasting music is good for hiding rattles, squeaks and road noise, even without sound proof done. if you want quality in your car audio, you need a quality system and then sound proof. if u want a silent and comfortable car without rattles, vibration or road noise without playing your music in car. i think better keep the money or spend it on better tyre.
