but not really if u spend too much money, nvh will never on par with higher segment. better keep the money for future car upgrade.

you need to be firm and clear on what you want and what you're getting.

let me ask you this, to fully sound proof a car typically cost between rm1k to 10k or so.
any "higher segment" car with DECENT STOCK sound proofing cost between 100-300k and beyond not including a long term high interest rate bank loan.

do you need mathematics lessons to calculate which is cheaper?

At least soundproof give better audio experience and lesser strain when driving long distance.
Using cheap material is okay to balanced the NVH and funny sound from inside itself tongue.gif
Start with good engine hood sound proofing and 4 doors.

yeah thats what i did - hood and doors, although i only sound proof 2 doors, f*** the rear door.
however i've surprisingly gotten good comments that my rear doors are solid too... that's probably due to the new rubber linings/seals i've replaced not too long ago. and my accessory installer mentioned that despite being empty, old iswara's door plate is thicker/heavier than most car makes today hence the sturdiness smile.gif

Rear door is always had a solid feel as it not as often being used as the front door. Unlike  those limo cab with more frequent rear door usage.

but this only applies wear and tear, i replaced all my worn and torn parts, door/chassis rubber lining/seals even entire door panels due to accident/rust and corrosion.

consider it new, except it is stock.
the same goes to the front doors, except they are way more solid with thick sound proofing materials underneath them

nvh will never on par with higher segment

i am just trying to tell TS that even he is willing to spend much, it will not be on par with those better car.
*
here's the thing: NVH improvement can easily exceed a higher segment stock car when done properly.
those jobs will require stripping your car down to the bare metal chassis and slowly apply various materials to them similarly how a luxury car such as BMW/audi/merc would have, and those sorta sound proofing/insulation is definitely not available on supposedly "higher segment" such the 120-160k range c/entry d segment cars.

so what i am saying here is when you are putting down absurd figures (eg: 10k) into sound proofing, you can easily exceed a higher segment (eg: civic/altis being c segment) car despite being a lowly saga.

do look into the matter more before starting your hostilities and playing around with various forum colors smile.gif

ts ask a question, i stated my opinion.
then someone try to lecture about loan interest for 200k-300k car hmm.gif
so who started it first?
a heavily soundproofed saga can pawn a stock teana in nvh? i dont think so. not even on par with sylphy.

it is just my opinion. no need quote and tell me teana cost 140K. saga + 20K only 60K.

2 layer door, roof, hood, bonet, wheel arch, dont nearby my house. cant remember total damage but around 3K.

just sharing for fyi, no need advice installer no pro, material cheapo, etc, etc.  cheers.gif

since you're so firm on your opinions, you're free to keep them smile.gif
