i just bought a fake china Galaxy S3 with a price of RM1050.
damn that guy cheat on me and switch off his phone.

inside it is running on JB 4.1.1 with playstore installed.
looks like original S3, the only difference is the welcoming screen when it boot up. the rest is almost 99& same as original. even the smoothness is also same.

now i am thinking is there any good thing i can do with this phone?

after seeing soo much china brand samsung clone in the market..now i think all this top 9 phone china's brand is a very interesting phone that is cheaper and high end also! hahahaha..think to get one of these soon and show off..if available lah..

Based on what you said and assuming the performance scales linearly. The CPU performance for 1.2GHz = 70% (as given by you), so 1.5GHz = 87.5% of the S3 performance. Bear in mind this is just a simple calculation (by no means accurate) for the performance of the CPU part in order to get a general idea. I am sure you guys can calculate for the GPU part yourself.

P/S: Not bad for a cheap SoC.

Comparatively, dell laptops come with a lot of junk that isn't needed. Much too bloated.

In linux terms, if you know Ubuntu/Fedora, that's bloated too. I use gentoo/archlinux which is very bare and minimal. From here, I'd install that applications I desire.

As bare and minimal as possible is what I want if there's such a thing. Also, it's nice to be on the latest android version...

If you're referring to compiling similar to that in intel/amd based arch, that is to say, ./configure, make, etc.. and compiling kernels, that im able to do..

If it's too much a waste of time, are there any chinastock phones that are very bare and minimal and the software is frequently updated so that the user can enjoy the latest features?

Just like how some linux distributions use the 3.3 kernel branch, some will already provide the latest 3.10 kernel branch.

Are there any upcoming chinastock soc's worth waiting? So I've read that mediatek is bringing in an octo proc.. Not too sure  what all the power is for, but I'd like a phone that can last as long as possible without charging. my dumb phone can last a week without charging.

Does anybody know if there are any highly anticipated soc's (cheap ones.. not tegra4/sd800) coming soon? Or is there something in the market that's already really good?
