batt with stamina mode does increases the life time
but for a full functioning stamina mode, you are making your 2k+ phone to be like a Rm70 nokia 1110
adding exception to the stamina mode will just slowly pulling you back to square one, battery size to small

any other function on the Z other than the 3G talktime is either equal of worse off than the Note 2
Putting bigger battery size can only bring back the smartphone function (web browse, video playback etc) to equal terms of Note 2

but as of now, the Z is way off the batt life compared to the Note 2 on smart phone capabilities

addendum: potentially the Z can be as good as the Note 2 batt life wise (electrical efficiency)
but the fact is the battery is still too small for fangle-dangle apps like stamina mode to help on compete with the likes of Bigger batt phones

the layerof rubber is called soft touch rubber coating
its a layer of Polyurethane coated ontop the plastic layer to give a softer feel to the usual hard plastic

my Microsoft arc mouse have the same layer
end up collecting dirt too much
have to scrap it off all

the whole frame cannot be made of that material cause the material is to lembik to hold the shape
so the layer is just a thin layer for feel

Do the following

1 open Lyn forum and try reply by using "add reply" button
2 then try the following, type somewords, then pressure enter button
3 then try typing any word

For me it seems the first and second letter will always mmissing

I too "seems" like have a broken stamina mode
But i found out that mine worked back today

have to really leave it alone and not fiddle it any other time

deleting the eco cache is useless
as the 4hrs is just standard without any data
as soon a it has some current data, it will seen as broken

once you leave it alone and not turn on the display frequently
the program can start to work



it has bee said the slow initiation of the camera have been down to preloading the camera app at start up not on the stock boot

I have a Highcell (taiwan) 4400mAh
can charge with the supplied cable

the sony cable cannot use this power bank
the supplied cable from the powerbank cannot use for connecting the phone to the pc
(seems like the data line is not connected)

Thing I have done

1. Update to. 434 update (recommended). Use SUS/ PCcompanion
2. Root while retaining the bootloader. Link in first page
3. Install recovery system (twrp). To instal, turn off the pc companion software. Download the recovery and connect the phon. Run instalme and you will have the recovery installed
4. Install DoCoMo theme. Download the file from xda. Use ES file explorer to delete systemii.odex and setting.odex. I forgot and come up to the problem where the unit shut down after a minute from boot up. Lucky able to delete both afterwards (but have to be fast) then reinstall the DoCoMo mod again in recovery mode
5. Install full screen toggle and using LMT pie. Loving the real estate but the LMT a bit slower for fast back action
6. Used kingsoft document editor to write a report. Usable but very laggy when typing. At least it can do some work.

from what i can gather
and the guys that build their own dock (at xda)

it still uses USB
so the speed for charging depends on the power supply


Note2 Charger = 2A
Sony fast charger = 1.5A
Typical USB port = 0.5A

A bigger ampere meant a bigger force to push the current back inthe battery to charge it
but is seems some people would say that the bigger the Ampere, the bigger the heat generating from the charging, thus shorten the batt life
Slow charge is said to be better for the battery life, but it has it own issue.

I too seen that whenever charging, and using at the same time
the battery would not go up, or even go down!!!!
so slow charging on Xperia Z is okay if not using
but while in used, the usage is much more than what a slow charging can support




the wifi problem seems to be an issue for others as well
ppl on xda have several type of solution
like disabling the power saving mode (edit a file)
to changing the antennae strength ??

but this usually will consume more battery power

Thinking between 32GB and 64GB
My phone is rooted so exFat exploit can be done to support size >4GB per file
but then again, I want to use link2sd or apps2sd type software,
and to run it with locked bootloader means to format it to FAT32
To use a better faster (50mbps vs 10mbps) ext4 file system have to unlock the bootloader, which I am hesitant

so which sd card and which way to choose?
