QUOTE(nasiayam @ Mar 22 2013, 03:19 AM) i drove around ttdi juz now to try the LTE, but can't detect it If you have an old Maxis sim card, lets say more than 6 months old, chances are that it cannot use the LTE network and in this case you MUST change your sim card. When I changed my sim from the big chip to the small micro sim yesterday at TTDI Maxis center, the cust svc never even ask for LTE or etc. Its auto detect. No extra forms, call cust svc or etc. Im using the 5Gb data plan. Maxis counter staff said once I exceed 5Gb my speed will be throttled down but wont incur additional cost. Hope that helpsi went to klcc last week to ask bout lte activation, they say no nid activation or change sim card, it will automatic switch to it when detected, my sim card 4-5 years d, can use hsdpa confirmed that the setting is "LTE (preferred)/WCDMA/GSM" d so i need to call maxis customer service to ask them activate lte for me? or maybe change sim? |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Mar 22 2013, 10:28 AM) Rooting is optional Best explanation thus far on rooting. Even I never understood the various explanation postings before this. Getting root or rooting your phone is the process of modifying the operating system that shipped with your device to grant you complete control over it. Root only if you wish to : - flash kernels, custom roms - installed apps such as adaway to remove those pesky ads from popping out - installed apps such as Titanium to backup and restore all your apps/data - installed mods such as improving audio quality, screen display quality, etc - installed tweaks to kernel, tweaks to undervolt/underclock Rooting does not change any of your data nor will it delete any of your data. It is a very safe process You can still use 64GB sdcard but must be in fat32 format. Root it to use it in other format eg its default exfat format Rooting , read this self explanatory guide. If you still dont understand ask here or at XDA You can select root with or without unlocking bootloader. Unlock bootloaders allow you more options in rom and kernel flashing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186368 |

Is it something like the apps running in the background which I can prompt them on the right sidebar and swipe left to close them? With such a high usage, you probably have other apps wakelocks being in operation too. You can DO A LOT of things to reduce this high battery usage. Start by studying your wakelocks using betterbatterystats app QUOTE Checked with Sony Centre Ikano, was told that Sony sending me the speaker.Of course I'll only believe it when I see it. You can check your speaker eligibility status with them?? Does that means those who purchased not from Sony center but register before the redemption page closed can find out from them also ah?This post has been edited by kucuboy: Mar 22 2013, 01:09 PM |

Dual Capturing is the process of taking photos while a video recording is going on. The photos from this mode however is capped at 1mb size only. Its not great but its definately handy in certain occasions. Correct me if I'm wrong but I heard the HTC phones have a similar feature but the pix size is bigger at 4mb.

QUOTE(Atsutane-Shirane @ Mar 27 2013, 10:46 PM) For anyone looking for a case that can be use with dock... Maybe this will do... Did some research especially on that thin casing for XZ - can still use with the charging dock without removing the casing. Looks very promising. Found this video on Youtube too - its in Japanese but you get to see how it works well with the charging dock. http://www.superbuy.my/shop/p-157841-simpl...z-tr-utxpz.aspx http://www.superbuy.my/shop/p-157844-simpl...z-tr-fnxpz.aspx The user who posted the video who I think works for the casing company posted this in the Youtube comments:- "Ultra Thin Cover Set is designed mainly to protect the device from scratches with the thinnest polycarbonate cover. It may break with shock and bend." Well I'm fine with that, the phone itself is pretty sturdy imo. Just want to protect it from scratching the black rubbery borders and same time no hassle of removing casing to charge in dock edit: thx Benl40 for fixing my broken link This post has been edited by kucuboy: Mar 28 2013, 01:30 AM |

QUOTE(KittyKat @ Mar 28 2013, 01:38 PM) Yeah this is indeed interesting. I use mine naked and am actually looking for thin fitting pouch, those with open end top. At least less abrasion on corners/edges in tighter pockets of jeans, etc. Anyone have any heads up??? looks like a lot of people interested in a really thin casing to work wit their dock. But a little more research today from Singapore forum revealed that the charging dock can be a pain itself.Apparently the way the dock is designed , it has the risk of scratching the side borders of the phone when u stick your naked phone into dock. Especially possible when push a bit rough or multiple usages. It's even worse for those using a back sp or that ultra thin casing because the two or three plastic levers/flaps press agaisnt the back of the XZ before it sits comfortably on the dock. So their advise in a nut shell don't use an ultra thin casing with the current design charging dock. Many of them modify their dock like by using scotch tape or manually remove those extra levers. I honestly cannot confirm or deny any of those info on charging dock cos I haven't bought 1 yet. Can any charging dock users share their views on this matter pls. Cheers |
