Okay.  Went to Samsung SC at One Utama this morning for information-gathering.

1)  Samsung SC at LYP is closed for 3 weeks due to renovation, so Samsung SC One Utama will have heavier workload for now.
2)  Freezing issue is very common for S3.
3)  SOP for freezing is to reflash firmware (what they have is what we have, 4.1.2).  Some users' issue is gone with reflashing.
4)  If reflash firmware does not solve the issue, they will change the mobo.  Quoted time is at least 3 days.  After more digging, was told the actual changing of the mobo is only 3 hours, but need to take into account ordering mobo if no stock, other jobs' queue, etc.

The guy at the next counter also picking up his S3 with changed mobo.  The MILF after me with S3 had charging problems, was also told need to reflash firmware.  She cannot accept her photos will be gone with reflashing, so I told her to buy a microSD at phone shops and ask the shop staff to copy out her pics.  She complained about SME since her sister at SG faced the same issue and Samsung Singapore immediately replaced a battery for her ("I won't buy Samsung anymore" )  Oh well, don't know both sides of the story, so can't comment further.

I am not encouraging people with insane chips to go change, this is just a sharing session.

BTW, about the Toyota recall thing, I once read somewhere that if the total cost of lawsuit and payment to families of deceased > total cost for recall of product, they will recall   since nobody is going to die from S3 SDS, they won't recall... logical?

Hi, everyone. I'm a new S3 user~ I have some questions on the battery. I understand that my phone battery is still new and it needs a few charges to optimize but so far I've only been charging it once a day (when it's below 20%) up till 90% or 100%. Is that alright?

I also use a task killer app to delete all running apps & I turn off my Wifi before going to sleep. Once it went from 60% to 30% overnight. I'm a bit worried that it went down so fast. My screen brightness is always at minimum and I've turned off heptic feedback. Maybe my battery is still new (barely a week old) but I will surely appreciate any tips given

You can remotely (online or through sms from other phone)
-Find/locate your phone
-Make your phone silently call other phone (so you can listen to them, but they cant listen to you)
-Wipe your phone data
-Lock your phone
-Display message on your phone (pls return to xxx.. this is a stolen phone etc2
-Play siren / custom sound/voice message on your phone
-retrieve your sms, picture etc..
-inform you if your sim card is removed
and more.

additionally, with root install:
-protect anti-theft from being uninstall (i think need pin no to uninstall). without root install, it will only disguise the apps as another generic apps.

My battery drops 8% overnight with lots of wakelocks... here is the result from wakelock detectors... But I still dont know which is the culprit... Why Alarm Manager got hells many of wakelock?? I didnt even set an Alarm.. Please help.....

Yup, just once. Cause my phone is barely a week old, lol. But I turned on power saving last night and it's so much better. I've noticed that Google Maps and S Voice are always running in the background so  I'll try turning off the location settings and we'll see how it goes. Thank you

I guess you should take back what you have just said. For me I don't go for Custom not because I am a noob but I am enjoying stability for what Stock offering..

Custom is stable but not as stabile as stock.
