QUOTE(saikuan @ Apr 23 2013, 12:41 PM) Well, depends where he goes IF he goes right? I don't think Cavani and Falcao is realistic..Cannot afford transfer fee or CL for them. Maybe if he goes to Bayern Munich, we can request 25mil + Gomez.. If we get 40 to 50 mil out of Suarez and we dont spend on some quality striker, I am gonna be pissed. Dont tell me 50mil in and then 10m out for Nathan Dyer for example. That is 10 steps back. LOL |

The only thing is will Caroll leave. I see his importance now when we cant break down Stoke and Southampton and West Ham.Perfect scenario is that Suarez stays and lose all his bad antics, + a Winger(world class of course, not Nathan Dyer ). If he goes, at least we can invest in Ah Ben right? (Christian Benteke) He's been awesome for poor team like Villa. |

QUOTE(dillonyong @ Apr 23 2013, 01:17 PM) Eh? Where is your Spirit of Shankly bro? I want 1st, but if Hannibal Lecter doesn't clean up his act, screw it.1st is 1st and 2nd is nowhere. Remember? We gotta get back to 1st. LFC won the league with class back then and I want us to keep it that way. If LFC had to resort to win without class, then that is not LFC anymore. |

QUOTE(ray123 @ Apr 23 2013, 12:00 PM) Haha, for me it's the opposite: I admire Shankly and Paisley and some Liverpool players just didn't sit right for me. I disagree in the sense that Shanks and Paisley will not say unreasonable things. They may wind up the opponents but without silly facts like Old man Fergie. Fergie sits along with Mourinho in always their team is right and others are wrong or the referee is wrong. The old-school managers had a different aura to them, they had the right amount of arrogance and confidence when they speak. Despite what some might say about Ferguson, I'd like to think others would agree he is the last of that particular mold and we'll probably never see their like again. Of course, others wouldn't care for Ferguson to be placed among those Liverpool greats, but I prefer to think that Liverpool at least respects Matt Busby and Busby himself greatly admired Ferguson. And that is more than enough for me. Dont get me wrong, Fergie is still a winner like Mourinho. But always a class below in terms of being a classy manager. I dont know much about Busby though apart from the disaster. This post has been edited by dillonyong: Apr 23 2013, 01:24 PM |

Sure everyone loves some class but if we aint got no Armani or Versace, we still gotta win it with Mustang Jeans or Giordano. LFC won the league with class back then and I want us to keep it that way. If LFC had to resort to win without class, then that is not LFC anymore. Win first then talk about class. I dont care for 1 season of Crazy Gang in action. It's been too long we are not winners and it's been too long we are just whiners. Let's get it right now. |

I'm surprised no one's reported Dillion for referring to mancs as monkeys.
Fergie is the best manager of my generation, I've no doubt. It will be some time before anyone emulates his achievements. The trophies he's won surpasses any manager I know. That all being said, I won't put him in the same class as Shankly, who took a club languishing in the old second division to the summit of European. Along with Paisley, he physically painted the clubhouse even. The statue of Shankly doesn't just represent his achievement in terms of winning trophies, it also represents the values he's instilled at the club. It represents a man from humble beginnings who "made the people happy". How many managers offer free tickets to fans, or invite strangers into his home to discuss football? One distinct difference between him and Fergie is that he was extremely witty and he had class. Just google his quotes. Instead of calling Everton a "small club" for example (like Rafa did. He was duly criticised by Fergie who in turn later called City a small club with a small mentality), he chose to say to Alan Ball, "At least you'll be playing close to a great team". Shanks in my opinion is in a league of his own. This post has been edited by Duke Red: Apr 23 2013, 01:55 PM |
