I support you. I have the same feeling as well.

Just want to share my experience. I was enrolled in the program after my diploma i think 9 years ago. The lecturer was lousy and yet the fee was soo expensive. In my digital electronics subject, you want what ? The digital lecturer (a PhD holder) can't even answer our simple digital logic question. I was very dissapointed with him. doh.gif

All of my seniors from that program only managed to get CGPA between 2.8-3.0 only. WTF!

depends on what course u take. some courses are very successful, and are almost getting full accreditation from LAN, while some other courses are just "menumpang" the success of others.

SPACE is the the part time tertiery education component organized by UTM. courses are taught using modules from fulltime courses, and usually taught by lecturers in that particular course.

i used to teach SPACE for architecture, both degree and diploma components. i'd have to say, majority of students had problems with the whole part-time thing, especially when it involves courseworks, assignments and stuff that u just had to bring home. well, u cant avoid this in architecture, hence the high tendency to get lower marks or fail.

i dont have the bigger on other courses, maybe jeffblazed could detail up what his problem is.

and yes, it's quite expensive. but now SPACE has a competition from the open university, which also using the same scheme.

NEVER ENROLL IN SPACEUTM. The admin people are rude, the management problematic and you as a student will suffer. Money gone and what you get is poor service. You will regret enrolling there. As per my personal experience amongst many of my other peers.

Kindly be advised, part time & distance learning programmes such as PJJ (Pendidikan Jarak Jauh) / PLK (Pengajian Luar Kampus) as offered by IPTAs (such as UiTM / UTM / UPM etc) are different as night and day as compared to flexible & open learning offered by IPTS such as OUM / WOU / AeU.

PJJ / PLK programmes offered by IPTAs are more rigid & structured in nature due to conservative learning & teaching pedagogies & mimicked the same structures as its fulltime programmes offered by the same IPTAs. This means, attendance is COMPULSORY for weekend classes (usually 4 times a month) or evening classes (daily basis). Assessment as the same for both part time & full time courses which includes attendance, assignments, quizzes and yes, mid-term & final exams.

As for flexible learning as offered by OUM / WOU / AeU, there are far more flexibility in terms of blended learning. This includes weekend classes (once or twice a month) which is not compulsory coupled with comprehensive online learning (learners even have options to do their course via 100% online learning without class attendance! ). Assessment is done via assignments, mid-term & final exam only.

One way or another, choose wisely which institutions suited your needs & time. Its all about time management.

you are extremely wrong..it is not about the place.. its about where are you AT! You know what UTM space sounded lousy..most ppl out there had terrible experience with them. For OUM , its proven that they are qualified enough to be one of the most PJJ learning centre. Luckily,i chose the right one.

first, get your facts right. UTM SPACE do not offer PJJ. OUM does. UTM SPACE offers part time programme.

two VERY DIFFERENT things.

I'm not sure about those part time degree/Long distance learning kind of stuff. But what I have observed is that IPTA graduate perform better than IPTS. smile.gif

That is your point of view and I respect that even it is not statistically right. Perhaps, you have seen IPTA graduates performing well than the IPTS does
