Kindly be advised, part time & distance learning programmes such as PJJ (Pendidikan Jarak Jauh) / PLK (Pengajian Luar Kampus) as offered by IPTAs (such as UiTM / UTM / UPM etc) are different as night and day as compared to flexible & open learning offered by IPTS such as OUM / WOU / AeU.

PJJ / PLK programmes offered by IPTAs are more rigid & structured in nature due to conservative learning & teaching pedagogies & mimicked the same structures as its fulltime programmes offered by the same IPTAs. This means, attendance is COMPULSORY for weekend classes (usually 4 times a month) or evening classes (daily basis). Assessment as the same for both part time & full time courses which includes attendance, assignments, quizzes and yes, mid-term & final exams.

As for flexible learning as offered by OUM / WOU / AeU, there are far more flexibility in terms of blended learning. This includes weekend classes (once or twice a month) which is not compulsory coupled with comprehensive online learning (learners even have options to do their course via 100% online learning without class attendance! ). Assessment is done via assignments, mid-term & final exam only.

One way or another, choose wisely which institutions suited your needs & time. Its all about time management.
