well, that's my observation from the novel. as in it Kyon never seem to communicate with other characther. he only tells when other characther speaks to him. the only time he did talk was in the 1st novel when he did the speech to tell haruhi why ppl don't bother making new things that lead to haruhi making the club.

You're missing the point of this series. this series is never made to be liked by itself, you must read the book to really appreciate it. Then you'll notice how a stupid and deadpan narrator can tell a great story. The series itself is never quite finished as there are gaps that they don't animate. The most important was some scenes from the second novel, and also one of my favourite, the fourth. Go figure

Meh... let me tell you straight. There is something more in the story than you see. Don't just look at the surface. Honestly, don't you ever learn not to judge a book by it's cover? For one thing, it's not freaky if you are not taking it seriously. second, there are more than meets the eye of this anime. I mean for some reason I suspect it's kyon that is making up the world, and Haruhi is just a person that he wants to meet in that world. Summore, you need to look at the theme of the story, friendship, trust, all that. and also the bunny girls and funny scenes are a plus. I mean, if you say this is freaky, then Eva must be gory and Elfen Lied must surely be banned.

We are no elitist, but we take our time to understand the animes that we liked. Just like any normal person would do
