QUOTE(rOnnyJustrOn @ Mar 19 2013, 07:38 PM) Well, since day one (mine is 2012 June release) I was having a intermittent jerking problem.Slight jerking only in slow speed... forward as well as reverse. SC re-set the ECU during 1k service but the problem still persists... During 10k service, again they reset the ECU(came to know they didn't update but only reset) but new problem araised together with jerking. Sometimes when i start the car in the morning or after a very short trip like 1 to 2km, if I stop and start, I could hear car accelarating itself few times and then die off. After that if I restart no issues.... SC informed me that my CFE is having the latest Software and there is no Software update for ECU and TCU after Jun2012 which I'm unable to digest... because in some forums I've seen Owners claiming that the jerking is gone after the recent update... |

QUOTE(neo1point3 @ Mar 21 2013, 02:53 PM) Thanks....The SC have already ordered the part for me as they don't have stock and waiting for the arrival... Managed to see the part below the Petrol Tank and took Photo also. The ones with issue are the earlier Batch and is in Green colour and the new Batch comes in a different colour (heard it is Brown). And understand that it doesn't show problems in all the Cars so they are replacing only based on complain from riders..... Pls see the photo |

QUOTE(dreamKrusher @ Mar 17 2013, 01:51 AM) add me in >> silver standard CFE. Just a sharing if you are upgrading the HU to a DVD unit.rm69k is worth the value. great power, spacious. although the rubbery material is of bad workmanship - the rough edge on my sterling wheel, and certain areas in the car. great air cond. dark window and screen (non tinted) but it is in dark color, so u feel a bit "cooler". hey, it comes with 4 disc brake...same as the 80k cfe. oh the rim, is not sporty at all, it's just a cover. maybe trade in for a better one in future. now i need to get some modding done... who can recommend me place to: 1. install spoiler n rear mirror. 2. body lining and design body sticker. 3. install dvd ...what u call that, mini tv in the car? 4. tint window. preferably with quote pricing. stay in kl, so moving in kl or selangor will be fine with me. i want good quality. since it a new car. i think i will skip the fog lamp, since i wont be using it frequently... but erm, i still curious on the pricing. hehe if still within budget, and worth it...can la. now already running 200+km...so far no biggie problem, just noise of wind on driver side when cruising above 90kmph. The Orginal roof DVD player is a stand alone player and it is just using the FM receiver for the audio. So playing the same video in both the Monitors, is not possible when you install a new HU together with the Orginal roof DVD player. So ask the Workshop to run an additional cable from the HU (RCA Audio/Video out) to the Roof DVD player which you can connect to the Aux in the Roof DVD player (using a Stereo pin type connector). By doing this, you will have the choice to watch the same video in both players or different if you choose to be(by using headphones to the roof unit). If you are having problems in loosing the audio while connecting the Roof player via the FM, you can try out the below method (since I'm using a power amp for the Music ystem, the FM signal disturbances is a nuisence There are 2 Head/ear phone sockets in the Roof DVD player, you can also make use of one to connect to the front DVD player (AV) so that you can hear the sound via the Car Audio Speakers directly. (I'm also exploring to see whether we can also include the video. Will share if I'm successful). |

QUOTE(iamtheone2020 @ Mar 21 2013, 10:00 PM) mine, EB cocoa grey.. went to penang today..odo after come back 930km.. preparing for 1st service.. so far no problem.. smooth cruise, great pickup power and quiet with little wind sound even when cruising at 140.. Adding my penny here (amatuer preparing for soundproofing next month.. btw, i heard proton service centre use semi-synt oil.. anyone had tried fully-synt oil for EB? Suggest to do the Sound proofing phase by phase inorder to enjoy the difference Do a study first to see which type of Sound proofing you are interested in (e.g reduce sound from outside or give more clarity for your Sound system). I tried a balanced one without much research but the result is impressive Done the doors inner part to reduce the sound vibration using a good US Brand light weight sheets. And also all the 4 tyre arcs.... Just for a thrill the rest of the Sound Proofing I done myself Phase 2 added one more layer for door (outer layer) using a normal SP. Phase 3 added for the flooring. I'st 2 rows using a good Japanese material. And just now completed phase 4 adding for the Roof (leaving the last row as the Aircon piping is covered completely). Positive: Very immpressive.... quiet and You get crsytal Bass notes for the Music. Since the outside noice is very minimum only less effort required for chating inside the Car Negative: You are adding more weight to the Car. For me intotal I've added 12 to 15kg for the whole work If you can do a through study on this and use the appropriate materials at the appropriate places, you can reduce the materials as well as get better result. Encountered something like a bit of jerk as well as a wheel slip like sound when moving slowly after stopping at Traffic light or moving slowly during the traffic jam. Initially I thought something got stuck up in the wheel or like the Wheel came out.... so got out of the Car to check but didn't see any issues. Took the Car to the SC to check all the Joints and no issue found. So far encountered about 3 to 4 times.... Informed SC and they suggested to monitor after changing the Valve first.... the Valve will arrive only next week. |

QUOTE(padilopadilan @ Apr 3 2013, 01:34 PM) Yes, I'm using this in my current Exora (shifted from my previous CPS).It's quite nice in the Night. Noticed that the price now is only RM100 compared to RM240(including installation) what I paid in 2009 at JB Workshop. Ensure that the Workshop is not using a single connection during fitting. Each one should go to that Door's push Switch connection so that it will only light up the Door you have opened. This post has been edited by mandrew: Apr 3 2013, 02:20 PM |

QUOTE(padilopadilan @ Apr 3 2013, 05:23 PM) from what i read, installation will tap the power supply from the dome light. which they might just loop the wire. so wont void warranty. If they loop lah... if they cut the wire than its different thing... There is no problem as long as there is no issues with the Car But all this will become issues when you bring it back to SC for claiming Warranty. For my Car's Jerking issue, when I brought it back to SC, they also complained that I have done a lot of Tapping as I've lot of Accessories.... So mine almost sure that I cannot Claim anything related to Electrical And they can even say that other issues started due to the mods... as the Cars nowadays are all controlled by ECU and TCU.... |

QUOTE(kelvink78 @ Apr 5 2013, 03:56 PM) received my EB std yesterday, noticed there is this burned smell everytime i exited from the car, is there something wrong? This is quite normal....and the sound of the blower when i off the engine, sometimes it hummed for a few minutes, other time it just quiet. am i the only one with this condition? thx for feedback! I also had this burnt smell during few days and also enquired with SC. They said it might be the Anti rust paint (or something) from the Exhaust pipe which is giving this type of smell.... So you might be having the same thing only.... As what calmshot shared, the sound after stopping the engine is from the fan (to cool the Oil). According to SC, the Auto Cooler trigers On only when the temperature is higher than 86 degree. That means, the Cooler will not start, if the engine temp is not going higher than this. And once it is above 100degree, the Cooler mode goes to the 2nd level whereby you will be hearing louder sound of the Fan running. And you may not hear this when you are going for long trips, as it gets enough air circulation which maintains the tempreture below the triggering point. So no worries... enjoy your ride..... QUOTE(AriesChai @ Apr 5 2013, 09:08 PM) new owner of eb cfe standard reporting in, need some advise from sifu here. Just to share with you regarding your query 4.1, the front seat rocking abit can claim warranty? 2, sometime when turning wheel, steering shaft have squeaks sound, is it normal? 3, my steering crooked to the right abit, is it alignment problem? 4, my eb is standard steering, if i bought the preve / exora premium steering will the button, auto cruise, and shift paddle work on with eb standard? My earlier ride was M Line CPS and I brought it to the SC enquiring to install the Fog light for me. But even though I bought the Switch Console, I couldn't get it connected as the Wiring was not avail. The SC informed me that the M Line comes with minimum wiring. I also enquired about the Cruise control; and the SC personal was saying that the whole wiring have to be changed inorder to do that. So please check. |

QUOTE(BravoZeroTwo @ Apr 10 2013, 11:52 AM) Recently I went for a trip to Genting Highlands. My Brother In Law was driving his 2009 Toyota Picnic 2 liters and myself on the EB both with 5 passengers onboard. In the highlands I had to wait a few times for his car to join me.... He was appreciating by seeing the EB 1.6 liters power I'm not trying to say bad about Toyota here as I like that Vehicle also... But this is the fact I've experienced... BTW, my ride's Jerking issue got resolved as the SC replaced the Valve near to the Petrol Tank. Now it's smooth.... They aslo informed that the Stopping issue also will not encounter as it was also related to this Valve. So Monitoring.... This post has been edited by mandrew: Apr 10 2013, 03:15 PM |

QUOTE(kelvink78 @ Apr 15 2013, 01:23 PM) I never read the manual, in fact i don't have time for it. my odo meter showing 400+ km, plan to travel outstation, and by the time i get back to my hometown it should exceed the 1k service. will proton void my free 1k service? pls advice. Last time I also had this type of situation. What I did was call up the SC to book for the Service using the existing KM and explain to them that I'm going for a Long trip which will cause to overshoot the 1k. So they made a remark on the Service Booking itself. So no issues when I went for the Servicing or for subsequent Warranty claims. |

QUOTE(gier @ Apr 16 2013, 05:20 PM) Hi guys, Nice.....First post here ... Count me in as an Exora owner too. Cocoa Grey EB. Today is the 9th day of ownership. Yesterday did the 1k service. I have, however, voided the warranty now, I think ... Because the head unit now looks like this: Warranty depends on the SC. Most of them won't make any issues for changing the HU. Hope the Unit is also a Plugin type. You may also want to consider connecting the AV out(Phones) from the Head Unit back to the HU so that you can connect directly without using the FM connection. |

QUOTE(gier @ Apr 16 2013, 11:14 PM) Hiya guys, True, the cables are seen outside and it is annoying....Ok, I'll just combine all the replies here. 1. The cost RM 2,400.00 "siap pasang". 2. The DVD Player, aka the roof monitor It's still the standard DVD player, with the AUX input to it connected to the Vid out of the Head Unit. Because the connector is situated at a rather dumb place, I asked the install guys to make that hole on the mount bracket, and run the video cable through the roof so that the awkwardness is kept at a minimum. There is no video out from the DVD player, in so far as I bothered to check. As for routing the audio out back into the head unit, I considered it, but felt that having one cable protruding out was already annoying enough. Also, using the FM connection meant that I could use, for example, Google Maps on the HU, while the ankle biters are watching whatever on the player with sound routed through the radio running in the background. 3. The infernal rattling Airbag? No ... I think it's somewhere at the A/C vents. When the installers opened up the console to put in the HU, I forgot to really check! So, will have to do it another time. Also, THE CAVEATS: The HU is NOT a perfect fit to the console. The installers had to shave off about 1mm around the sides. They messed up a bit, and the fake carbon-look overlay got stripped a little. So, they put on another type of fake carbon-look sticker to cover up. The fler who messed it up said to me that at least now he knows not to make the same mistake! It's a Gingerbread Android, with a resistive touch-screen. This means that it's a rather old implementation of the OS, and the touch experience can sometimes be challenging. Some software are "not compatible" according to Google Play, including Waze ... which is stupid. I'm going to try and sideload the latest version tomorrow and see how that goes. There are other little niggles here and there too, but it's late and I can't really remember. -- Having said that, I still like it. However, I would love to be able to root the thing, and to install, at the very least, ICS. Then, it'll be really cool! I actually saw a Off white color L type cable somewhere so went around atleast about 20 shops but couldn't find. So finally ended up buying whats available. But since it is L shape it does not project much and I only made 2 small slots for the Cable to pass through. You are right there is no video out, but I'm trying to do some expedition Will share the outcome in June. 3. The infernal rattling It should be due to something loose or not properly cabled during the installation. So just get it checked. After I opened up my Set I also had the same issue and upon opening found that the issue was, I didn't cable the Steering Remote Control properly and it was hitting the Dashboard. Enjoy your Android Player. Get a OBDII Scanner and install the Torque Software..... Wow... you can enjoy a lot..... I'm using that in my Small Galaxy S3....
