Oh really ka? I thought mine was quite bad because i see the meter the L/100KM is at about 11 or 10.9, not able to get it lower... When in jam will definitely increase then try to make it lower but really tough to down...go up very easy lol
*
drive at highway can drop to 8.5/L

I think nothing will happen, im unsure why proton sc dont recommend full synthetic. Maybe because its hard to find 10w30 full synthetic
*
i heard from another forum is that full syn (15x50W) oil will increase fuel and no power

personal opinion 10W30 / 10W40 / 5W40 synthetic are the best choice from my point of view.

Well of course others may have their own opinions for oil grades. smile.gif
*
which one can use for 10k?

only one choice for full syn (15W/50)?

Actually yes, proton service is every 10Kkm, which u get free labour charge for a year if im not mistaken. Just it is recommended to service every 5Kkm for semi oil, but on interval 5Kkm u need to pay the labour charge.

Eg:

5000km - pay labour charge
10000km - free labour charge
15000km - pay labout charge
20000km - free labour charge
And so on...

Correct me if im wrong, i just based on my assumption.

Anyway, i'd prefer to service every 5000km for semi oil. For full syn oil, can service every 10k without worry.
*
i think only have free servis for 3 times only

15w-50,off course heavy since the viscosity grade is higher than standard.FC is the same but feel lighter engine

my humble opinion
*
if fc same than i will continue to use it

any side effect?

only one type of fully syn oil at sc only?

QUOTE(mat79 @ Mar 29 2013, 12:01 AM)
u shud complain to we.care coz if i not mistaken, cvt supply by punch only need to change the oil n filter for every 60k km. N please check also the type of fluid they using, hopefully the correct one.
i dunno whether thay had change the policy coz as far as i remember, its 60k as stated by punch.

10w 30 is almost all major co recommended for modern engine. U still can use 5w 30@ even 0w 30 coz both are sae 30 rating. The 1st is normally refer to winter rating@ at common known as how thick@thin the oil during cold start. The upper number on the other hand how thick@thin the oil can be when it heated up to normal operating temperature or even under extreme condition. Unless u r kaki pecut, sae 30 rating is suffice enough, unless u always red line kind of guy, then sae 40, 50 or even 60 is better. For normal engine n kaki pecut, sae 40 is enough. Unles high power engine like vw gti, evo, imprezza, ferrari n etc need beyond that, that is if its driven hard every day. If using higher sae, the bad things is that it is thicker, which means heavier. For cfe@iafm+, isnt recommended coz it will effect fc n performance.

But the first number@winter rating shud be atleast 10w. If using lower than that, its ok, but higher than that, isnt recommended coz thicker oil during cold start will cause hard to start, engine need to work hard, n for vvt equip engine, the oil takes time to bath the vvt component, which can lead to unwanted sound coming from vvt during cold start. The lower number cons is that its expansive than 10w, n for older engine that already eat the engine oil, u need regular top up.

So, its up to you, but since u can use cheaper 10w 30, why need to spend more? But if u need to use fully syn oil, make sure its around 10w 30, 5w 30@even 0w30 which is really expensive. For petronas, that is syntium 5000. U can get 5w30 from petronas in form of syntium 3000, n its also has 5w40 for the same range. 0w 40 also available for syntuum 5000.

For me, personally, i used 5w30 fs oil for one of my car, n 10w30 semi for another one.
*
can 10w30 last for 10k?

thank you

50 is heavier then 40. Protection will be the same as both came from the same oil. Fuel efficiency definitely 40 compare 50 from my point of view.

I don;t know did you notices that your engine will be very much quieter if using 50. smile.gif
*
yes, feel more quiet then get the car

btw can 15w/30 can last for 10000km?

thank you very much

mine from 1st to third service go to sc, because of free labour. using shell helix 10w40. 5K service interval. not much problem encountered using this oil, just when the interval reach 5k, car feels heavy.cold start also no problem.

after this i plan to service at normal workshop because of cheaper labour charge.when i ask proton sc their labour charge is RM65  mad.gif
and want to try other brand engine oil.
*
my advise is if can affort then go back to sc, coz outside one don know about cfe engine

Emm.. because it's cheaper and want it to look like original CFE Bold Premium (from the exterior at least). I estimated used 16" Exora rims to be around RM500-RM600. If new 16" rims with nice design, it could cost up to 1k and above.
*
so cheap only meh?

my manual bold is 15inch one

Recently I went for a trip to Genting Highlands.
My Brother In Law was driving his 2009 Toyota Picnic 2 liters and myself on the EB both with 5 passengers onboard.
In the highlands I had to wait a few times for his car to join me....
He was appreciating by seeing the EB 1.6 liters power  rclxms.gif

I'm not trying to say bad about Toyota here as I like that Vehicle also...
But this is the fact I've experienced...
BTW, my ride's Jerking issue got resolved as the SC replaced the Valve near to the Petrol Tank.
Now it's smooth....
They aslo informed that the Stopping issue also will not encounter as it was also related to this Valve.
So Monitoring....
