I have a problem with my removable disk. On My Computer it appeared as usual REMOVABLE DISK (G). Double click on it, will appear another REMOVABLE DISK (G) but shortcut. Double click on the shortcut, will appear another new windows displaying all files in the REMOVABLE DISK (G).

How to removed the shortcut?

Should be infected by virus. Instead of double click, try exlplore it with Windows Explorer. Anyway, u need to scan both ur computer n ur USB drive.

Already done that. But no virus found. Double click or explore it with Windows Explorer will still bring me to the files. I just wish to removed the shortcut.

What antivirus you are having?
Make sure it is up-to-date or else it can't detect the latest virus ...

WebWalker, I'm using QH AV.

By the way, when I hover at the shortcut, it appear this C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe ~$WBXNDVEOW.FAT,crys desktop.ini ufpakufp yisdnyik " "

What was that mean?

You should use more reputable antivirus like Avira, Norton, Trend-Micro, AVG and etc ...

You just can't tell how effective an unknown brand antivirus.

No problem, but u should use Malwarebyte to scan ur PC n USB drive like the link suggested. Remember to update it b4 scan. The problem wouldnt go away as long as the virus still there.

Sometime u need more than 1 reputable anti-virus software to fight certain virus, especially when the 1 u have doesn't prevent ur PC from getting infected.

If you've any folders that reside inside the thumbdrive, they may be 'missing' since the virus has hid them all.

You can either enable the view hidden files option or access them manually through the address bar.

You can use this, it's much easier.

USB Hidden Folder Fix
user posted image

Info: USB Hidden Folder Fix is a small portable tool that can fix all invisible folders and their subfolders with a click. Just run the tool, select USB drive, and click ‘Unhide the folder’ button.
Download link: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/File-M...older-Fix.shtml

note:
1) Your PC should be virus-free. Run full system scan using updated antivirus/antimalware to be sure. if not, the virus might hide your folders back.
2) You can safely remove those shortcuts. It's created by the virus.

stormaker, I done as it said. Twice I repeat the whole process, but still the same. I'm about to give up now. I don't want to format my hdd. That would be the last resort. I really wish there is a way to removed that shortcut.

Try to ask around whether ppl really know about Quick Heal.
If no one know about it, then you can't call it "reputable" brand.

As for your case, I will uninstall the Quick Heal and install Avira free into your system.
Update Avira and do whole HDD scan on any virus.

Malwarebytes did a good job too.

If you can't get the virus remove and you don't want to format your HDD, you should send it to any pc repair shop and let the technician clean the virus for you.

try:

1) open your command Prompt
2) type f:
then enter
3) you will get F:\> right?
type attrib -h -s /s *.* /d
then enter
4) when the process is done, minimize the Command Prompt. open your Removable drive (F) and try to delete the Removable drive (2GB) shortcut.

If the shortcut could not be deleted or it reappear, i think you have a virus on it. the shortcut cant be removable until you remove the virus.

1) download unhidden.txt and change its extension to unhidden.bat  (batch file)

2)after that put it into the root directory (or other directory as you wish wink.gif ) of your pendrive (IE: G:\,  I:\) and double click on the unhidden.bat.
It might need some time on pendrive/HDD if the dedicated folder contains many files. Be patient and it will close down automatically once it is done.
The batch file doesn't define the dedicated directory so that it can be more "portable"

3)Once click, it should show the real folder and something extra (files with extension like Vbs, Dll, exe, log, scr) on the pendrive root folder).
DELETE ALL OF THEM if you don't need it, especially the <RECYCLER> folder which is quite frequent to become "virus liar", and those SHORTCUTs
