I have a problem with my removable disk. On My Computer it appeared as usual REMOVABLE DISK (G). Double click on it, will appear another REMOVABLE DISK (G) but shortcut. Double click on the shortcut, will appear another new windows displaying all files in the REMOVABLE DISK (G).

How to removed the shortcut?

Should be infected by virus. Instead of double click, try exlplore it with Windows Explorer. Anyway, u need to scan both ur computer n ur USB drive.

Already done that. But no virus found. Double click or explore it with Windows Explorer will still bring me to the files. I just wish to removed the shortcut.

What antivirus you are having?
Make sure it is up-to-date or else it can't detect the latest virus ...

prestigio, I couldn't find the .Ink and also there are no hidden files.

WebWalker, I'm using QH AV.

By the way, when I hover at the shortcut, it appear this C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe ~$WBXNDVEOW.FAT,crys desktop.ini ufpakufp yisdnyik " "

What was that mean?

You should use more reputable antivirus like Avira, Norton, Trend-Micro, AVG and etc ...

You just can't tell how effective an unknown brand antivirus.

No problem, but u should use Malwarebyte to scan ur PC n USB drive like the link suggested. Remember to update it b4 scan. The problem wouldnt go away as long as the virus still there.

Sometime u need more than 1 reputable anti-virus software to fight certain virus, especially when the 1 u have doesn't prevent ur PC from getting infected.

If you've any folders that reside inside the thumbdrive, they may be 'missing' since the virus has hid them all.

You can either enable the view hidden files option or access them manually through the address bar.

You can use this, it's much easier.

USB Hidden Folder Fix
user posted image

Info: USB Hidden Folder Fix is a small portable tool that can fix all invisible folders and their subfolders with a click. Just run the tool, select USB drive, and click ‘Unhide the folder’ button.
Download link: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/File-M...older-Fix.shtml

note:
1) Your PC should be virus-free. Run full system scan using updated antivirus/antimalware to be sure. if not, the virus might hide your folders back.
2) You can safely remove those shortcuts. It's created by the virus.

stormaker, I done as it said. Twice I repeat the whole process, but still the same. I'm about to give up now. I don't want to format my hdd. That would be the last resort. I really wish there is a way to removed that shortcut.
