how long already?
personally I never had my tints change colour like this. NEVER.
The only time I replace them is usually when they are too old and start to ripple.

it started faded 6-8months after installation
the picture was taken after 1 year installation
now hardly see the gold color except those edges where hide from the sun-light

i went to shop. they said it's pretty normal for all the tint
and warranty on it if color faded in patches.

means only less than 1 year, your gold already totally faded?
from the photos, your gold only remain a tiny bit on the edges of your windows!
Hard to comment because there are simply too many tint brands on the market.
I guess the one you installed just isnt too good.
The shop sounds unresponsible! Did they warn/inform you that the tint colour will fade after 6-8 months?

those sneaky bastards. the colour totally changed from gold to.... something else!
Since they say like this, if you really wanna claim, I suggest you use a heatgun and sparingly damage the tint in patches.
claim warranty. hahaha.... but make sure can claim before u do it. and also make it look like an accident (I mean, look natural)

I bought this from one of forumer here.
I went back to the shop in SS2, they only can change 1 side windows panel.
Now already about 3 months. I can see it starts losing gold color

Dont know how much u are charged for these tints.
But to me, colour fade/change after 3 months is unacceptable.
Must be very very poor quality dyed tint paper. hmm.gif

the only good gold dust is the original V-kool... that also fade after 7-8 years. this is due to the oxidation of the metal film inside. other brands? ask yourself how much you paid for this. compare it with the original golddust.

this is why nowadays people go for ceramic films.

That guy got offer at rm180, but I clearly said I want gold color tint.
He gave a price of rm250. I really how the tint pricing in market and they giving huge discount.

The problem was the warranty given is not fair.
They have stated warranty for fading. But when I went back to the shop they said fading in patches got warrantym
Is this such thing in tinting industry?

Just wonder about other colors. Will it be the same even with the entry level tint?

This tint's brand which I used, sure many of u know it.
They do industrial tinting too and have quiet a lot of franching shops.
Could it be a fault play by this particular shop or just a scam of the brand itself?

well u have 2 options now
1. complaint at consumer tribunal and force this shop to honour the warranty
2. learn from lesson, and blacklist this shop forever

I'm no expert, but from what I know tints have cheap type and good type. and then there are expensive type. cheap ones are usually just dyed films. the good type are metallic. finally those special ones are ceramic, if not mistaken. I usually use metallic as they seem to offer the best balance between sun protection and cost. I usually change my films about 7 years in average (from memory) due to ripples (uneven, not smooth anymore)

I've installed a gold colored tint on my previous KELISA. after 4 years the color still reasonably visible. I cannot remember the brand though
