Hey guys I got a question here.
I got a laptop using 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT 525M, i7 2.7ghz, 4GB ram.
But almost every game I play got extremely low FPS like 15-22 even on medium settings. Even on warcraft 3 sometimes the game lags and fps drops drastically.
Anyone had this issue? It frustrates me because I can only play my games on my desktop
Also I got an intergrated Intel graphic card inside but I had selected Nvidia graphic card for every program I am using in the Nvidia control panel, still not working.

Seems that your laptop is facing the same issue as mine. Its from your graphics card, a.k.a NVIDIA Optimus issue which causes your laptop integrated graphics card to be used instead of the NVIDIA one. Download this NVIDIA Inspector tool, which will force your NVIDIA GPU to run the games you want to play. Just make some profile adjustments and you are good to go.

The inspector thing works! fps goes up like 8-10. Mind telling me your graphic card model and what had you tweaked?

My laptop's(Dell) graphic model is the GT425M. Since I've not used it for a long time, what I could recall was to search for the game you want to play from the PROFILES, configure the settings, and then click on Apply Changes, followed by the Set as Default profile button(you've to slowly mouse over the buttons to find out the correct one). This is an example you will see when you choose any games from the list: Take note that if the same issue persists, you will have to relaunch the Inspector before running any games. Thanks a lot I will test it out with several games now

Even when playing simple games like Counter-Strike using my laptop's GT425M graphics, the frames are still jumpy. Unless someone sheds some light on this, I've to admit that I've been adjusted to this for a few years already. This post has been edited by UserU: Mar 11 2013, 09:00 PM

Sighh it's kinda dissapointing because the hardware specs exceeds minimum or even recommended specs requirement but still performed extremely poor. Hopefully any experts can help us

Monitor the temps/performance, both cpu and GPU for any throttling. Which i7 2.7ghz processor are you using?

Performance: what I can say is extremely low. In most of the games it runs extremely bad. barely reach 25 fps. usually falls between 14-22. However strangely for some games like portal 2, teamfortress 2 it runs perfectly smooth. Using the Nvidia inspector the GPU load never exceeds 10percent. I am using i7-2630M

If you have turned on your Optimus, make sure you set the power setting to "High performance" and you have plugged in to the wall. No juice=low frame rates. Happened to me before because i didn't plug in the power and the performance dropped to save battery power.

There are alot of people having this issue. Some using GTX660 overclocked but resulted in poor performance also. Once I contacted the Nvidia helpdesk and it seems they direct me to a rather amateur guy. He simply asked me to look at the taskbar icon whether it says nvidia is working or not. Clearly it shows that it's working, i responded and he says besides that there's nothing he can do. I noticed most of them having this issue is on their laptop. My desktop 2GB AMD radeon HD 7950 never had such problems

No matter what graphics card he has. I'm sure it's able to take Medium or High of Warcraft 3 which is a 11 year old game. Right??? I'm sure any integrated card is able to take on that.

Use software like MSI Afterburner to monitor your GPU Core+Mem clock and also your GPU usage while playing game and when the stutter happen.
Use HWINfO/Core Temp log feature to monitor your CPU frequency whether it's throttling while u playing game.
Set Optimus to use Intel HD gpu when playing WC3 and see if it exhibit the same behaviour.
