you can try the Nissin flashes that are compatible with four thirds systems? cheap and light i guess. my nissin is quite alright on my e620. having a flash will help speed AF and indoor low light performance and is alot cheaper than getting a fast prime lens. when i got the NIssin in 2011, i think it was around 400. a fasy prime lens, f2.8 or more is at least 1k, check out YL camera website or shasinki site.
i saw a 50m/f2 macro for 4/3 used going for 1.1k on shasinki, really sharp lens and at that price is a steal. but i already a used om zuiko 50mm/f1.8. like everybody, i am on a tight budget so can only dream for now.

Sorry guys. My lens is standard zoom lens that comes with the kit. I've asked the guy... lens itself cost RM1100 to replace. Not sure its true or not.

Any good zoom lens you guys can suggest or better, any of you want to sell your EPL-3 standard zoom lens? biggrin.gif
*
why dont you check it with Olympus service and get a quote then decide what to do next. buy lenses not bodies.

And i thought tat Olympus EPM series was small.....

so small laso not comfy to hold, even the e-m5 needs the battery grip for me to hold comfortably.

There's also a grip you can add to it to give you a better grip of the camera smile.gif

more$

e-m5 needs 1k more to make it useable for me at least,
if like that i would rather stump up more and get the e-m1 just because it is bigger and comfier to hold and more up to date.
and i am coming from a e-620 which is already quite compact.
haha if i had like an pen mini 1 i would probably customise it with sticky tape or sandpaper or some texture surface to help it grip better. but that is just me.

This mini thing along with the mini lens (said to be high quality) is about RM2k. I think the price is very low for an m43 camera.

That's the reason why we use m43 - we have 2 lenses manufacturers for us to choose. biggrin.gif

I know many Olympus users who die die just stick to Olympus lenses. Olympus and Panasonic compete and collaborate at the same time, sticking to just one brand means you will miss many good lenses from the other brand. Olympus users should be more happy because their camera have good IBIS so they can choose any lenses. Panasonic users may miss some of Olympus tele lenses due to lack of IS, such as the 75mm and the upcoming 45-150mm. [GX7 IBIS is a duck]

As a Panasonic camera user, I love Olympus 9-18mm, 12mm and 45mm. If I need to stick to just Panasonic lenses, I won't have any wide angle fast primes. I also can't shoot long exposure using the wide angle Panasonic 7-14mm zoom because it doesn't take filters. Panasonic may have the 42.5 f1.2 coming but that thing will be huge and expensive. The Oly 45 is so tiny and cheap.

Even Olympus will be having a 40-150 f2.8 soon, it is much much bigger than Panasonic 35-100mm f2.8. They are totally different lenses and size will determine which one you prefer.

If you want to stick to Olympus lenses and you need a full frame 50mm focal length, what do you get? Nope, nothing available.

When it comes to m43 camera bodies, you can stick to a brand, but when it comes to m43 lenses, be flexible.  tongue.gif

50mm i hear you say, why just get a used f.zuiko 50mm/f1.8 smile.gif got mine from b&H for about rm800 + shipping. fast and small if only in manual focus.
because we have IBIS, all you need is a mount adaptor and you could even use other makes of lenses even from the big 2.

I mean 50mm full frame equivalent, which means 25mm in m43.

EM1 users can always use Four Thirds lenses through the new adapter and remain autofocus. But four thirds lenses are bigger than m43 and the adapter also make your gear larger and bulkier. Of course this strategy will at least make those who want to be "I am Olympus" happy.  tongue.gif

I would rather be in 2 camps.  rclxms.gif
*
not that much bulkier. since OLY glass are inherently small.
as long as everyone is happy to shoot.

small, until you get to the >100mm territory

tried the 150mm 2.0 on the EM-1 during the last Touch and Try session and i was already tired by the 10th shot. it was heavy as hell.

why did Panasonic have to cancel the 150mm 2.8 m43 lens???  sad.gif

pity the canikon users or you need to work out more. lol
