second that, but mostly m4/3 primes lens all give fast aperture 1.. so no worry bout light.. just pick any focal length that your desire..

my current lineup is 19mm, 45mm, 14-42, 40-150... right now just to consider whether wanna get 25mm or not..

What's there to consider? Super fast...and the cheapest Leica* you can get. It's a bargain! brows.gif I'm getting it once budget allows.

IS can sometimes be over-rated and used as marketing tool to sell more.
afterall, IS wasnt around donkey years ago...only like last 10yrs only.
ppl have survived for long enough without it.

just stick with basics and u cant go wrong.

I think a fast lens make a bigger difference.. IMO. And I have really shaky hands.. dang. Mom tell me don't fap too much I didn't listen.. sigh

i'm thinking of selling mine. seldom used. condition very good. pls pm me price offered.

btw , im thinking of selling this n buy the oly 17mm/f1.8 lens.

mainly use during holiday trips. any opinions?

You probably want a zoom lens for travel rather than 1 prime only. If you have an assortment of primes then yeah.

I tried walking around with only the 14mm Panasonic.. was doh.gif when I saw something far I wanted to capture, I couldn't walk closer because, well, I can't walk on water.

Tempted to get Olympus E-P5 but I'm wondering if the replacement for OM-D is around the corner... hmm.gif
*
There's ALWAYS something around the corner. Buy it when you need to use it, not when something new is out.

Digital stuff always go obsolete after a year or so.

That being said I'm considering to let go my EPM2 and get the new E-P5..LOL.. yes its the same sensor but the body so much nicer.

After getting my Panasonic 14mm.. I shoot with nothing but it.. and I wish I had more manual controls on my EPM2 AND an optical viewfinder..I just don't like shooting via the digital screen.

EM5...is big..GX-7 looks..ugly...(sorry) I'm attracted to the Fuji camp..how ah.. shit..that X100S is so sexy

Thanks for that, opinion appreciated.
I think my mind is pretty set on the GX7 like I mentioned before since I own a Lumix the functions shouldn't differ too much.
I am quite new to this lense business so can I ask what is the diff between the both?
The only thing I know is that the 20mm is single focal so that means I can't zoom and stuff is it?
If so say for example I go for holidays, is that 1 lense enough?
*
Yes, prime lens your only zoom is your feet. Whether it is "enough" or not, depends on you. For me, I use a 14mm prime lens on my EPM2, so its very small setup.

I like the focal length and it is enough for me.

EDIT: Don't buy the 20mm because of its high resale value, go for the lens you want. And what you want depends what kind of pictures you take. I take pics with my camera for travels, so wide angle is good enough, further stuff can crop.

Pana GM1 to stay in system, or Sony RX100 or Canon G7X. Any other options?
*
You evil professor. You read my mind. The latter 2. As for the system, apart from the kit lens I only have the 14mm pancake, so I am not in too deep..almost bought the PanaLeica 25mm back then.

Either the RX100 m2 or the G7X, both same price bracket. Leaning towards the Sony, cause I want a P&S, less manual controls -- GF will use it rather often.

Rx 100 is still pocketful, g7x not really Pocketable.
*
Thanks for the info. Leaning towards the RX100 m2 cause its cheaper than the mark 3 significantly. EVF not really necessary for me since using it as a P&S. Love the tilting screen.

QUOTE(zzzxtreme @ Mar 19 2015, 08:21 PM)
pocketable go for rx100. can't go wrong. consider fuji xf1 also. gm1 is small, but as slim. not that pocketable
*
Got to skip the GM1.. E-PM2 is already very small compared to a lot of mirror-less cameras. The lens just protrudes. No choice. With the 14mm pancake.. can only fit in my jeans that are loose cut with deep pockets.

Went and mess around with the RX100m2, m3 and G7X over the weekend. Handling wise I like the RX100 series, and the EVF is damn sweet. G7X didn't feel as premium as the Sony in terms of handling. Solid but just a little lacking. The extra knob on Canon will help for manual shooters, I'm getting it for P&S.

That being said, I took some test pics and compared pics online, Canon's skin rendition didn't look as good as Oly, and the Sony looked a little cool in terms of color. Seems that overall color I prefer Olympus, with only Fuji beating it.

Now the question is m2, m3 or G7X. Leaning towards the RX100s cause corner sharpness of G7X not that great, so the focal length benefit didn't seem that obvious.

Price difference.. M2 cheapest, followed by G7X and m3 most expensive.... For the price of m3 can get used x100 but it's too big. FML.

still impressed with the sharpness from the 12-40mm wide open, who needs to stop down for landscape now tongue.gif

I prefer the Olympus colors over the Sony, but man the EVF is sweet.. and everything in such a small package. Touch to focus is missing on the RX100 cause no touch screen... cry.gif One of the features that I use.
