hi all... i'm new in this forum... was searching for something about 3.2 DiD AT (with LSD rear axl) gear slipping issues.. while normal driving gear slips from D to N and the gear indicator at the dashboard goes from D to blank..

anyway, i've read a lot of issues highlighted in this forum and i would like to share my experience.. if you have an issue with your triton (especially engine related), always diagnose with a computer. dont assume..

my problem was sudden loss of power.. flooring the pedal also no power... usually you'll feel the power rush at 1800 rpm.. computer says "GDI Diesel Valve" error message... something to do with intake.. after checking further, the root cause was the EGR - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (usually known as green engine) system completely clogged with sediments.. cleaned up all the EGR components and intake manifold and also blanked out the EGR (so it wont get clogged again)... problem solve... btw, my 3.2 DiD full tank is 70 liters and clocks 700km on long distance at average speed 100-120kph...

My Triton has began to produce A LOT of black smoke recently...
Everytime I press the pedal (as the RPM reaches 2k)... a lot of black smoke produced..
Last I noticed... there's no smoke in sight when the RPM >2k... or around <1.4k.

Also.. I noticed.. when i drive the truck for the first time in a day (or.. after the truck's being parked for some hours)... there'll be a small lag in acceleration (and of course.. followed by black smoke...)
(Press Pedal --(1-2 secs)-- Accelerate + smoke)
It'll be normal after that..

What should I look for before sending the truck to any mechanics / SC?

Try getting a throttle  controller  installed n shud be able to solve ur issue
