To me its actually consider cheap, its around 800 for 4d3n full board with 5 dive (but have to work as cleaner a bit), nice hotel and food which normally cost you ard 800 for 3d2n without diving.

i didn't attend other project aware before apart from this organizer, last time i only work 20% of the time, the rest is leisure time or maybe need to attend the boring class session about conservation at night.

if i calculate normal price 5 dive x RM100 + RM900 4d3n hotel= RM1400 but in this case i only need to pay RM800 which its almost 50 % discount, to me totally worth it.

just came back from perhentian and back straight to work .anyway,finally got my open water licence.so excited!

thou i got some blister and cuts from stupid fins and got some scratches from coral,everything was great!

to be honest (and for the record, not looking down on our own local dive instructors), I have had a great experience going for my course with mat-salleh dive instructors - they are more strict in certifying OWD candidates, so they usually go the full mile in ensuring that the certified divers can really take care of themselves.

Some local dive instructors, had to mention this, is more money-oriented and thus slack on what they should actually do and teach during the actual OWD courses - hence might have a high chance of possibility that the certified OWD is not well-prepared for the 'real-world' diving experience and situations...

if I were you, my first priority is to ensure that the dive centre that handles the certification for such a big group will be able to accommodate for those numbers, and at the same time be able to maintain a certain certification standards (not slacking due to the sheer big group of students) all for the reason of safety.

once you have scoped down the probable dive centre that could handle the numbers and with professional standards in mind, then only you start negotiating on a large group discount with them.

my recommendations would be to go with any 5 star PADI dive centres. my personal choice would be scuba-junkie in sabah or tioman B&J dive center.

hi guys,new diver here,inexperienced but very enthusiastic.

i'm thinking of getting my AOW license soon,but the gang that got the OW with me are in really inconvenient schedules due to their jobs,and,well lets just say they're less motivated than i am.
anyone here getting their AOW license as well? i'm interested in tagging along..

The reason for the rush in certification is to effectively unbar the depth restriction. i firmly believe that skills and experience, all through hunger for improvement, are more important than the title itself. the AOW license is more of an obstacle than an achievement to me.

But inferring from your reply, its possible to get the license myself? i mean,i figured i would need a group or at least more than myself to proceed with the course, as it was for the OW licensing.
