This is my reading of the 74-year-old Sulu sultan grieving for his followers who had gone to their ancestral home in Sabah only to be massacred by forces of Malaysia, which is just renting for a pittance the resources-rich land of the sultanate.

bila pulak Sabah tu tanah asal diorang? tanah asal diorang ialah kepulauan Sulu dan sekitarnya. Sabah cuma tanah anugerah pemberian Sultan Brunei. Sultan Sulu pun tak tinggal di Sabah dulu kala.

The islands of Sulu totaled up more than 2 times the size of Hong Kong, or 3 times Singapore. Economically it is poor, dominated by the agriculture and fishing industries. This is Jolo, the capital of Sulu.


If I'm the Sultan of Sulu, I would negotiate a 'one country, two systems' thing with Manila, something like that of Hong Kong, then start focusing on economy. But some people are simply mentally incapable to build a thriving economy themselves, that's why in the mind only wanna claim everything others built.

agree. malaysian media have been VERY slow in reporting and only from malaysia angle. Even philipine media seems ahead. Our media like the tv3, thestar, nst oso macam shial, they have more political news than this critical problem we're facing.
