1) jika kita guna tentera dahulu bermakna kita dalam perang dengan Sultan SULU.

2) Juga bermakna kita mengiktiraf Sultan Sulu secara lansung sebagai kerajaan yang sah yang mengistiharkan perang kepada kita.

3)Dan jika ini berlaku ianya akan tertakluk kepada Geneva Convention dan beberapa protocol antarabangsa.

Jika Polis sebagai pemerintah operasi bermakna

1) kita masih anggap mereka itu penjenayah dan penceroboh bukan combatant perang.

2) Polis kita akan menangkap dan menahan (perkatannya untuk polis ialah menahan bukan menawan - Menawan ialah perkataan Tentera ada beza di antara keduanya)

3) Untuk mengelakkan mereka menjadi Tawanan Perang. Cukup sekadar sebagai tahanan penjenayah. Maka tuduahn di Mahkamah Awam boleh di lakukan. Seperti tuduhan yang boleh kita buat di atas lanun Somalia yang kita tahan sedikit masa lalu. Mereka tidak di anggap tawanan perang.

4) Boleh di ektradisikan dengan lebih mudah ke Filipina. Kalau tindakan ketenteraan atau kita anggap perang susah nak bicara dan mana nak tempatkan mereka dan diklasifikasikan mereka ini? Maka jadilah macam kisah CIA dan Black Sitenya untuk WAR on TERROR mereka. Kita kena la buat macam Guantonamo BAy juga. Susah macam tu.

Itu sebab kita mengambil langkah Polis dahulu. Jika tentera ambil alih sudah jadi kes lain.

Jika keadaan tidak boleh di kawal lagi maka LOCAR AREA EMERGENCY (darurat setempat) boleh di isytiharkan

Dengar cerita darurat telah di istiharkan dan curfew di kuatkuasakan di sana. Ini bermakna tentera sudah ambil alih di Lahad Datu atau kawasan pencerobohan sahaja (kawasan yang lebih kecil)

Ianya seperti darurat waktu ribut banjir New Orleans dahulu- tentera USA ambil alih bukan lagi polis tempatan)

Dalam keadaan ini bermakna bukan satu negara Malaysia darurat dan bukanlah bermakna perang kerajaan Malaysia dan Sultan Sulu. Darurat hanya untuk keselamatan sahaja dan LOCAL AREA SAHAJA. Saya sebagai bekas anggota tentera ingin menjawap persoalan mgapa tentera tidak dihantar utk berperang. Ok, bagi saya setakat 200 orang pihak polis boleh selesaikannya...maksud saya group VAT 69 komando. Unit ini memang ditugaskan utk memerangi pihak musuh di hutan. Manakala polis biasa hanya untuk ketenteraman awam. Dan sekiranya pihak mereka sukar utk memusnahkan pihak musuh, barulah kuasa penuh Tentera digunakan.

PEKAN: The Prime Minister has confirmed that two police personnel were killed and three others injured during the clash between Malaysian armed forces and Sulu gunmen in Tanduo village near Lahad Datu, Sabah.

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the armed Philippino group had ventured 1.5km from their holed up area and opened fire at the Malaysian security forces.

"I am very sad over the incident because what we had wanted to prevent, which is bloodshed, had actually happened.

"Now there is no grace period for the group to leave.

“I have given the full mandate to the ground commanders, namely the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar and the Armed Forces Chief Tan Sri Zulkefli Mohd Zin to take necessary action deemed necessary," he said.

Meanwhile, in Lahad Datu, Sabah police commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib told reporters that 12 Sulu gunmen were killed in the clash between Malaysian General Operations Force members and the gunmen.

The number of injured among the Sulu group is unknown.

At a 6pm press conference, Hamza said the skirmish began at 9.59am Friday and last ed 30 minutes after five elite GOF members moved to tighten the cordon around Tanduo village where the Sulu group of about 180 including 30 gunmen led by Rajah Mudah Azzimudie Kiram had been holed up since Feb 9.

``Our men stumbled upon several of the intruders who fired at them, forcing our police to return fire,'' he said, adding that security forces are now holding their ground around the radius of 10sq km.

He said police recovered some of the weapons of the Sulu group.

LAHAD DATU: The uncle of Koperal Azman Ampong, one of the three police commandos injured in the deadly shootout with the Filipino gunmen, was overwhelmed with relief when he discovered the news of his nephew's death was not true.

Madun Buyong, 57, said he rushed to Lahad Datu Hospital where his nephew was taken immediately after hearing the news on TV today.

"We were so happy to find out that he is still alive," he said .

Azman, 39, is warded due to injuries on his thigh and buttocks along with Koperal Mohd Tarmizi Hashim, 32, who suffered hand and leg injuries while Konstabel Mohamad Qaiyum'aiqal Zolkifli, 22, is warded at Sandakan Hospital due to injuries on his right shoulder and legs.

KOTA KINABALU: The remaining members of the armed Sulu group holed up at Kampung Tanduo must surrender or face "drastic action", Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said.

He said the group, led by the brother of the self-proclaimed Sultan of Sulu Jamalul Kiram III, must immediately lay down their arms and surrender.

''We have no other options but to take the necessary action to detain them,'' he said after attending a detailed briefing about the ongoing operations along with Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein at the police General Operations Force in Felda Sahabat here.

The group was now "trapped" and face no alternative except surrender, Ismail said, adding that the police were in complete control of the situation.

Hishamuddin said he would be remaining in Sabah until the situation was resolved.

Twelve members of the armed group were killed in a shootout with the police commandos maintaining a cordon of the village.

Two police commandos were killed and three injured in the skirmish that broke out at about 10am on Friday.

MANILA: President Benigno Aquino III on Saturday urged the followers of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III to “surrender now” as he admonished them for choosing a wrong path to stake their claim on Sabah.

“If you have grievances, the path you chose was wrong,” Aquino said in a statement, a day after the more than two-week-old siege in a remote village in Lahad Datu turned deadly.

“The just, and indeed, the only correct thing for you to do is to surrender,” he said.

Twelve of the close to 200 Filipinos in Sabah and two Malaysian security personnel were killed in Friday's firefight that was reported to have ended the standoff.

The dozens of Kiram followers have been holed up on Borneo Island, surrounded by a massive Malaysian police and military cordon, since landing by boat from Mindanao to insist the area belongs to their Islamic leader.

Aquino said Manila's efforts to prevent a bloodbath had become futile as the group stayed on to press their claim to Sabah.

“To our citizens in Lahad Datu, from the very start our objective has been to avoid the loss of lives and the shedding of blood. However, you did not join us in this objective,” he said.

“Because of the path you have taken, what we have been trying to avoid has come to pass,” he said.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 (Bernama) -- Another member of Malaysian security forces was killed, this time in a firefight with armed intruders in Kampung Selamat, Semporna,, about 150km from Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu, Sabah.

According to a police source, another police personnel was also injured in the firefight which began at 8pm.

It is learnt that the intruders had planned to attack Lahad Datu police station.

Lahad Datu and Tawau Police Special Investigation Divisions have been deployed to the scene.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar when contacted by Bernama confirmed the incident but refused further comment.

Yesterday, two VAT 69 police commandos, ASP Zulkifli Mamat, 29 and Sergeant Sabarudin Daud, were killed, while three others were injured in a gunfire with the armed intruders in Kampung Tandou.

Twelve of the armed intruders were also killed.

LAHAD DATU: The situation in three areas where security forces are holding off armed Sulu intruders is under control, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar.

"I have called the armed forces chief (Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin) to strengthen our position over incidents involving the armed intruders in three areas.

"We are in a state of readiness to take further action," he told a news conference at Felda Residence Sahabat, about 130 km from here.

Present were Zulkifeli, Bukit Aman internal security and public order director Datuk Salleh Mat Rashid and Sabah police commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib.

The areas are Lahad Datu, Semporna and Kunak.

Three armed intruders were nabbed by the security forces in Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu as they tried to leave the cordoned area; while five policemen were shot dead in Kampung Seri Jaya Simunul, Semporna, and 10 armed intruders sighted in Kampung Lumalong and Kampung Dasar Lama in Kunak.

Ismail asked the people not to believe in rumours and unconfirmed reports on the situation or make assumptions based on postings on social media networks.

He said the police have not imposed a curfew in the areas and assured tourists of their safety.

Zulkifeli said Lahad Datu, Semporna and Kunak residents should go about their daily activities as usual without worrying as the armed forces and police were working closely to address the security situation there.

"The IGP and I are mapping out operations and we can handle this situation by enforcing tight security," he said.

Zulkifeli said two more battalions have been deployed in several areas in the east coast of Sabah to restore public confidence. - Bernama.

Lahad Datu: Tanjung Labian and Tanjung Batu in Felda Sahabat, here, have been declared as red zones by the authorities after armed men were seen near the villages.

Sabah police commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib confirmed this latest development and added that both villages are next to each other.

The villages are also said to be between 5km and 7km from Kampung Tanduo where the original group of about 200 gunmen are holed up

Feb 9 - The group enters Malaysian waters in a boat and begins to gather in stages at Felda Sahabat 17, Kampung Tanduo in Lahad Datu. Feb 11 - A gang from the group is discovered by a group of local fishermen at night. The fishermen lodge a police report that 100 armed men in army fatigues are putting up in Kampung Tandou.

Feb 12 - The group breaks into smaller groups to enter several locations in the village, namely Sungai Bakau village, village surau and the house of one Ahmad Malandi, also known as Mad Bon.

Feb 14 - Prime Minister Najib Razak says the Malaysian government will try its best, including negotiations, to handle the issue of intrusion before ousting them from the area. Inspector-general of police Ismail Omar says the police identify the group of Filipinos who landed on the shore of Lahad Datu as being linked to the 'Sulu Sultanate' from southern Philippines.

He says the group claims to be the 'Royal Army of the Sulu Sultanate' and they do not want their people of Sulu descent to be sent back to their country of origin.

Ismail says, negotiations with the armed group is still in progress to find the best solution, without bloodshed.

A report quotes a Philippine army personnel, who is a loyal follower of Sulu raja muda, Azzimudie Kiram, as saying the group has come at the invitation of a "Malaysian opposition" to discuss land issues in Sabah.

Feb 16 - Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein (centre in photo) confirms the group is not a militant or terrorist group but is in fact, strong supporter of the Sulu Sultanate and stresses the situation in Kampung Tanduo is under control.

The group, which wants to be known as the 'Royal Army of Sulu Sultanate', among others, is also claiming ownership of Sabah and wants the state to be returned as a territory of the Sulu Sultanate, claiming it was seized by the British from the Sulu Government.

Feb 18 - Hishammuddin says the governments of Malaysia and Philippines are working closely to resolve the conflict, through diplomacy and without bloodshed.

Feb 24 - The Philippine government sends a boat under humanitarian mission to ferry the 180 armed personnel, including 30 armed guards, holding up in Lahad Datu, Sabah since Feb 12. Feb 26 - The deadline to expel the group passes but negotiations are still in progress.

Feb 28 - The Malaysian government is urged to negotiate directly with sultan Jamalul Kiram III in Manila to end the conflict of seizing the area in Lahad Datu, Sabah which has prolonged for more than three weeks. The call is made by Jamalul's youngest brother, Agbimuddin Kiram, who stresses that only his brother can order the 180 Royal Army personnel to leave Felda Sahabat 17, Lahad Datu.

March 1 - a shootout breaks out between security forces and a small group of intruders when they try to break a police blockade in Kampung Tanduo, resulting in two police commandos dead and three others injured.
