Finally gotten my Unifi yesterday

initial installer no show during scheduled time of 9:30AM - 12:30PM, called the installer number from the sms issued by TM, no answer the whole morning, until 12:30PM when I'm about to call TM to complain the installer called, giving excuses they only received the assignment notification just now, while they're still on holiday yesterday after Hari Raya Haji.  Asked me if I'm ok with changing the date of installation to Sunday, I screwed him back, that I already took leave that day to wait at home just for this installation, and I want it done on the same day!  He apologized & said will arranged with TM again.
Few minutes later, received another SMS from TM, stating another installer will be at my house that afternoon, 5 minutes later, a new installer called, and they're there within 30 mins.  All together the installation took about 2 hours, including setting up of the equipment.  I paid extra RM100 to them as the cabling are concealed in ceiling, and goes down within a wall port, was told first 50M open cabling are free, but concealed type are chargeable.

Now enjoying 30Mbps speed compared to previous lousy unstable 8Mbps Screamyx thumbup.gif

What's the best Unifi package for new user in Sarawak at this moment?
rm129 100mb?
*
There're only 2 packages at the moment, 30Mbps@RM79 and 100Mbps@RM129. If 60GB quota not enough for u, or 30Mbps not fast enough then you only have 1 choice left.

My main usage is Netflix and was very satisfied with my Unifi 100Mbps for the past 10 months since installed.

But, for the past 1 month, TM decided to throttle my Netflix streaming at night and the quality fluctuate between 480p and 720p, occasionnaly get 1080p for few minutes and can forget about 4K on my Sony 4K TV and Apple TV 4K.

When test speed with Fast and Speedtest app, it's always show almost full speed of 100Mbps. Restart router numerous time but each time will only improved for a very short time.

Very frustrating, any advise on this ? I know by reporting this issue to Netflix and TM will only make them blame each other without any solution.

Thanks. Means mostly still TM's infra, same like West Malaysia.
For availability you have to find out from each telcos website, (Maxis Fibre, Celcom Fibre, Digi Fibre). Just register for the package that suits you.

I see, in terms of stability n support, any idea which one better ?

Maxis confirmed available at my area, but not sure it's under Sacofa or TM infra.

support Unifi will definitely be better. for all the rest, if there's any issue related to hardware/line stability they will need to call TM and make a joint appointment to assess your issue.

The only reason I'm considering Maxis is because their 300Mbps package only RM149/m, with first 3 months free.

check the box outside, is it TM or SACOFA? Some area got both.. just try check with maxis they use sacofa or tm
*
The black box on the pole at the back of my house belongs to TM. N when I checked with Maxis on the coverage, they did mentioned that if I currently subscribed with Unifi, then I need to terminate it with TM first before subscribe Maxis, transfer is not allowed.

then meaning it's using TM... don't terminate, just straight go to maxis and they will ask you do transfer request on TM

chances of you having frequent problems is generally low. so just gor for what is more worthwhile for you.

Just go for Maxis. Generally you shouldn't have problem, only when the cable break then you need Tm to come.
Usually people use the transfer method, not terminate Unifi. When you terminate chances are that your port may be taken by someone. You should sign up Maxis and get the transfer ID to submit to TMpoint. Once approve Maxis will come and swap the router.

Thank you all. Look like Maxis is a better choice for me.

I already went to Maxis, they checked in their system n told me I cannot just transfer from TM to Maxis, I need to terminate my Unifi at TMpoint first before subscribe to Maxis. Maybe, I'm using Unifi 30days trial at the moment.
