QUOTE(Vyrnach @ Oct 9 2015, 09:48 AM) After waiting for many months, one of the technician just came over to my house 4 days ago and tell us installation will be conducted "soon"™. There was no email or call at all. Yaya.. I actually been to TM point today to ask about this matter. For streamyx user that upgrade to unifi, you will have two line at home (this is that if you want to retain your existing streamyx tel numbers).Afraid I can't give you a straight answer as I have heard multiple answers regarding this. But you SHOULD be given an opportunity to 'assign one EXISTING line as a complimentary line as part of the transfer from Streamyx to Unifi'. I am not sure about other scenarios like only land line> Unifi So the procedure its, after unifi successfully install at your place, then you will need to go TM point and inform the CS that you want to terminate the your streamyx account BUT you want to retain your existing number. They will do the adjustment accordingly by terminate your streamyx, waive your streamyx tel line rental and retain your number. An add on RM1 + GST will be charge to the bill for retain the old streamyx tel number. And any call make from that number will be charge accordingly. TM CS suggest to use the streamyx line to receive call and call out with unifi line. |

Got mine installed this evening. Bet the first few that got it in that Lorong that I live at. But there's problem with the speed. With laptop and PC, I can't seems to get pass 8Mb for both upload and download via speedtest. Sometime, it drop below 3Mb.. Especially the upload.
But it were perfectly fine when I test using my phone (oneplus one) with the speedtest apps and test from the same server (celcom kch). My 8mb streamyx still on going, if anyone said there's problem with my PC / laptop, then why I can get full speed test doing speed test under the same device when I hop on my streamyx line? |

QUOTE(Vyrnach @ Oct 19 2015, 10:09 AM) Sure. Will do it when I get back? Which location? A normal cmd ping will suffice? Well, I did what you mentioned too. Burst speed on IDM, yea 1.2Mb/s.. After 1mins drop back to 500kb+. Torrent with Xunlei plat accounts, same as well. Once burst, it hits the maximum speed and after that drop like 40-50% of what I suppose to have. While my streamyx account didn't give such issue. On a site note, my ping test sucks. 50-100ms. I'm like you, heavy downloader. If streamyx, its understandable for ping below 100ms are counted good. But on fiber and ping is above 10ms, something not write. I suspect unifi having issue on their routing.Speedtest.net is NOT a proper reliable way of measuring your speed. You may only get 3Mbps to that test site in California but I'm totally downloading full 30Mbps with the help of a download manager or another software. The 'best' way depends on your usual usage. I'm a gamer and download a lot of stuff so it's only usual that I use my proffered download tool for my testing (which is IDM and uTorrent, which both easily downloads up to 30Mbps) and also the connection quality such as ping. Lodged my complaint at batu lintang today, the teller write and send email to their tech team right infront of me. Not bad. This post has been edited by fylon: Oct 19 2015, 11:05 AM |

Unifi seems taking their business seriously yo! Lodge complains regards on my issue yesterday morning, and they called me back in the afternoon then send their team come over to check this morning. Looks efficient to me. End up the issue on their side, so they did some testing and call to KL for adjustment and finally my problem resolved.

QUOTE(Vyrnach @ Oct 21 2015, 09:48 AM) I have to say I also faced this only very recently in regards to my UniFi installation and after it. Some girl's from their UniFi 'service center' were very helpful throughout the process. If it means getting proper internet to the masses, I'm all for it Yea, their team that come over also very friendly. Sit down do testing, and calling then still explain to me (very basic to me as myself is CCNA network engineer), but really appreciate their efforts. Honest speaking, apart of the pricing issue I'd say TM customer service are so much better than their previous record. Thumbs up! |

Colonel Cabuk your speed test result are impressive, can I know you did it via cable or wifi? |

QUOTE(Colonel Cabuk @ Nov 23 2015, 02:09 PM) WiFi, using TP-Link's TL-WN722N w/ external antenna. Will connect this desktop with cable when I get the new router+switch. Dang. Not sure if my parents is surfing / youtubing when I do speed test remotely. But anyways, thanks for your head up. Going back to test again tonight with direct LAN connection to see how it goes. Am using Asus RTN66U.Edit: Whats your IP range bro? My has been changed from 1.xx something to 118.xx since last night. This post has been edited by fylon: Nov 23 2015, 02:19 PM |

QUOTE(NubPro @ Nov 23 2015, 02:27 PM) What I meant is the ip range.QUOTE(Colonel Cabuk @ Nov 23 2015, 03:01 PM) I'm on Unifi's stock router, if that helps. Guess we're in the same range then. After a restart mine and mind change to 118.xx. I got the 1.xx IP range at first, then it changed to 175.xx after I turn the ONU/router back on (need to arrange some cables) ![]() |

QUOTE(squall0833 @ Nov 23 2015, 03:57 PM) it could be the wifi connection slightly slow down ur 30Mbps possible speed depend on the wifi signal strength you have now, Yea, you're right! Now with higher speed then we slowly can see the drawback of 2.4G. About time to move to 5G! Lol. Anyways, will do a direct cable 1 to 1 speed test tonight to see the actual speed. standard 2.4Ghz Wireless N will have huge speed drop vs wireless signal, if u have 40% or below, u might not get full 30Mbps, normally this was not an issue because our internet are less than 25Mbps, now we have 30Mbps or above, so we can see the wifi's slow issue now thats why TM recommends u to use LAN cable connection to do speedtest to have more accurate speedtest, use LAN cable connection or make sure ur wifi signal at least above 50-60% also take note that if u got many neighbors wifi really near to you, it can cause interference to ur wifi too, due to crowd wifi channels QUOTE(Colonel Cabuk @ Nov 23 2015, 04:04 PM) Yes I do subscribe that pack. Total bill is 199. Ya, i have the RM20 rebate listed on my account. Just that I sub for the voice package but strange option appears instead. Gonna call 100 again tonight for verification. Duh.Eh you better check if you got the 20 discount (top part) |

QUOTE(Vyrnach @ Nov 10 2016, 02:42 PM) RM179 promo is back! Details below Hm.. The offer I got is without extending contract tho. Updated UNIFI VIP Packages (UNIFI30 and UNIFI50) **Current UNIFI Advance promo of RM20 rebate throughout contract period of 2 years for UNIFI30 and UNIFI50 if you subscribe from now until 31st December 2015 [eg. for UNIFI30 without any add-ons, from RM199 to 199-20=RM179(RM189.74 with GST)] Edit: I just contacted internal TM staff and they confirmed to me that this rebate is valid within the contract period of 2 years only. Not a major issue as you are free to downgrade/cancel/upgrade at that time but you must remember to. Note: Their marketing department should contact you for limited retention offers beforehand got an offer for 19* last time but already very happy with my 30Mbps As per the telemarketing staffs, she mentioned to me that there will be no contract extension but just continue from where I'm. Anyways, I didn't take the offer since not sure will there be any other better offer or not. LOL |
