Want to know if MaxisOne Home Fibre (+Astro IPTV) service is available at Kuching Unifi areas? (As it is cheaper than Unifi 30)

MaxisOne Home Fibre uses Telekom's Unifi network, and recently Maxis's ad pop-up showing it is now available in Kuching, but I cannot verify the availability at Maxis's official website. I prefer MaxisOne Home as its IPTV is Astro, HyppTV is rubbish.

Time dotcom is available at some commercial areas like Giant Tabuan, CityOne, Kuching Sentral (082-28xxxx), but I don't expect it will be extended to landed residential areas. They build up their own network, not like Maxis. Time's facility is at Samajaya.

Finally UNIFI is cumming to my area after 9 years of waiting

saw the TM agents setting up stalls outside my house, they claimed it should be available for my place latest by year end

my area is between MJC & RPR Batu Kawa, Kuching

*finger crossed

I heard Unifi Lite RM129 is now available at Moyan area! No surprise your area will be covered very soon.

i wonder why they did this

wasn't that mean for new subscriber after February not eligible for free upgrade and still subscribe to the unifi packages at the old speed?

it's like only give existing customer who already subscribed to have free upgrade only,

what's the point for the budget, double speed with same price in 2017?

it doesn't look like they will change the current plans to new pricing and rate

quite unfair to ppl who wanted to subscribe but they couldn't at that time cos not in coverage
*
Not really true. A lot of existing Unifi users...
RM149... VIP 5 -> Unifi Lite 10
RM199... VIP 10 -> Unifi Advance 30
RM249... VIP 20 -> Unifi Advance 50
Some of them prefer to cancel existing service (even after upgrade) and sign up for cheaper option (eg Unifi Lite RM129, Unifi Adv 30 RM179)

Only those Unifi Advance 30/50 users signed up before 28/2/17 enjoyed free upgrade to Unifi 50/100.

New Unifi packages will be offered to new customers from time to time, eg Unifi Lite + Webe at RM178, cheaper Unifi Internet in 2018/19, and existing Unifi users may not be happy.

If I am not wrong, alternative bb for Sarawak is Sacofa, for Sabah it is Celcom Timur. But we usually buy the service from Internet Service Provider.

Thanks bro, but my house area one is this instead

Isit fibre optic for unifi? The red arrow pointing one with a big patch

Thanks

The copper wires (ADSL/Streamyx) and Fibre Optic cable (Unifi FTTH) will co-exist at your place for some time. A few years from now, TM will remove the old wires (copper) when TM terminate the ADSL/streamyx service at your area (Then most of your neighbours already migrate to FTTH).

Which one is copper which one is fibre bro? Thanks... can see no yellow black cable yet
*
All the cables going into the Cxxx white box and extending to other Cxxx white box or Black tumbler.
Whoever subscribing FTTH (TM Unifi / Maxis Fibre / Celcom Fibre) service, TM will then install a fiber cable from Cxxx box to the premise. The cable is not pre-installed to your house.

Really meh? I doubt tm monopoly this can happen. Price getting higher is always a possibility.

For Sarawak, the monopoly will be Sacofa, not TM. TM will be a ISP only.

O, Forget about Sacofa. tM and maxis so far providing fix fiber broadband here.
*
See how the state government take over the last-mile network from TM, otherwise we will end up having 2 fibre networks on the street.
In the past, Sacofa bought over all the telecommucation facilities in Sarawak from Maxis, Celcom, TM, Digi, so I assume Sacofa will take over TM's last-mile network soon.
Wait and see. Sarawak Multimedia and Communications Commission will be set up next year. Abang Jo's target is very much higher than Unifi Lite speed.

Hello SOFIA. Officially launched by Abang Jo last night.

FTTH HIGH SPEED INTERNET (SOFIA)
SOFIA stands for Sacofa Open Fibre Infra Access where we can deliver high speed internet connections to residential or commercial buildings.

Normally kampung rural area already cover by this monopolise market.
If use maxis, same it's using TM infrastructure. Nothing different, but only the service.

Oh ya... My side here Siang Siang garden miri already 3 years still masih don't have Unifi, some-more Streamyx pun tak ada...  thumbup.gif
Really racist less than 500 meter there those residential got unifi, while my side here don't have..

Really racist to the max....  thumbsup.gif
*
You may hope for Celcom Fibre & SOFIA (in near future) using SACOFA infra which is cheaper than Unifi.
SACOFA has extensive fibre networks across the state but yet to build the last mile connection for existing residential areas.
They are given fund/task to build the fibre connection to the areas not covered by TM.
SACOFA is / will be the monopoly, not TM / Unifi.

so many excuses.

CS at TMPoint Batu Lintang can't do anything. Network developments is handled by TM Simpang Tiga, if I am not wrong.
Maybe TM lack funds now for 2018-2019 HSBB2/SUBB expansion.
