Most sensible thread title. Not sure why 'dota2 on unifi' thread is suggested while others like 'massive lag' are closed.

The topic is about lag, and not the service itself generally.

But yes, what I do wonder is if there are people on unifi/streamyx who do not face this same issue. Only us? or everybody else too?
*
Ive merged all topics related to lag etc to this thread... Renamed it from unifi to a general thread to discuss all lags/servers/connection issues

for those using grey/silver D-Link modem (consider new)

Solution - The problem was due to a function from the router called Anti-Attack (under Advanced options tab) which appear to block several IP and port protocols. Disabling this seems to clear the problem as I have yet to see negative effects of disabling this system.

Ok here is the guide:

Just so you know you can try it FREE and it disconnects every 20 minutes then can reconnect back, premium is around RM17 a month, much more worth it. Anyway try free first n see.

Info about software:
http://www.battleping.com/info.php

Sign Up here:

http://www.battleping.com/register.php

Download here
http://www.battleping.com/setup.php

Install then open program:
1 - Choose the server in ASIA > Choose Singapore with the LOWEST ping
2 - You will see your current ping
3 - Click Game Connection
4 - Launch dota
5- You will see green notification "Game Detected"
6- Enjoy
Follow the steps as I numbered

goodday folks.

I planned to upgrade my 1mbps streamyx soon.

So i've a dilemma in choosing between streamyx 4mbps and unifi VIP5.

Whats your take on it?

My only requirement is stable ping to enjoy Dota 2. smile.gif

I am not sure whether is it because of my router or my location, but unifi VIP5 is rubbish for me. I am currently paying for VIP5 for watching youtube videos and my own telco for games cause Unifi is just too "FAST" too FURIOUS.

theoretically VIP5 would definitely be a better choice but sometimes....location play a role...
so maybe u can try to ask around your area folks for a more accurate feedback...
