Couple room is one of the hardest room to get in SG, owner either want two male or two female. there is nothing good or bad for couple to rent a room if your relationship is stable enough, then you noneed to worry of fighting and get throw out from the room..haha..just joking. tongue.gif

haha understand what you mean.. hopefully since that is my wife.. Owner will give chance.. haha..

Will be based in Malaysia, now is transition period, one week here one week there. If things go smoothly, most of the time will be in Malaysia and fly back for meetings.
I sharing room with my GF, she come here once a while during the holidays. Landlady really welcome her every time, and ask her to come often and cook her lunch when I am working. You have to discuss with the owner before signing to see if they allow or not and how much. Some due to religion, personal reasons, and don't want a couple. My previous Muslim landlord don't allow due to religion reason because we are not married, my other previous Muslim landlord allow but charge a very high daily rate.
Bugis, Lavender, Kallang to the right. Tiong Bahru, Redhill to the left. Mine is 550 (consider shared room with my GF) at Lavender, 5-10 minutes bus to North Bridge Road depend on which area in the road.

Thanks for the tips. Yup have to respect other religion as well. smile.gif

bro, 2 toilet sharing with 9 person meaning about 5 person max each toilet. But my case is at least 6 to 1 toilet wor. Not to mention if all working then morning time and night time will be quite challenging to get to use the toilet. Don't you think so...

Totally agree. try it out first and who know whether you will like it or not. Like me also trying to work there but first need to sort out my place to stay first. Of coz have to admit. i under estimate the rental cost in SG. Still punching the those number to see whether what I can do with my salary.

2nd link, medini or bkt indah.. if want cheap, can go for surrounding bkt indah but no transportation
1) ask ur agent, whether it covers
2) yes, or all that u had paid will be gone
3) $1000, estimated.. some dont need, ask ur hr
4) ep dont need, s-pass sometimes, wp yes... gotta ask d provider
5) yes, all got but it is bundled, can think about this later
6) bring at least $4k for peace of mind

Housing is a killer. For me, I signed a 2 year contract so that meant 2 months deposit + 1st month rental + 1 month agent fee. Then I had to also spend a decent amount of money buying miscellaneous furniture, appliances, cutlery, etc.

Thanks all for the reply. Yupe, looking at the figure really blink.gif eye openning for me. To make it worst is now still in RM pay. So 1st month is the one that will really hit me hard. doh.gif Once get the pay in SGD then hopefully can pull it off fast.

No harm trying mah. I applied my PR in January (1yr 7mths work in SG), got the approval a few weeks ago, so.... less than 2years. P2 EP.

Those of u who got PR, did your IPA say anything like 'you are invited to apply for citizenship after X years" etc? I'm wondering if that line really means a decent chance of SC approval after X years or whether it's just some standard letter template.
*
Cool, you got PR in less than 2 year. rclxms.gif So with the PR status, once the CPF kick in, does that hurt you badly on your salary?

When my company brought me over, no sign on bonus but they paid for 1 month expenses (hotel and food), and a relocation service from my place in KL. I guess some companies are more concerned with staff welfare than others tongue.gif (I'm also a very junior hire in the chain here).
Nola I learned the yandou talent of bullsh*tting after working in a 80% indian department for (almost) 2 years. No matter how small and insignificant the 'achievement' was, they have a knack for trumpeting it as if they saved the world. So for my PR application form I also do the same - I got sent to those countries as office boy to fetch coffee for the senior people but I wrote on the PR form as if I am the boss icon_idea.gif
*
Never the less, you still gain the experience to work in other country. That will open your eye due to different culture and way to work will be a big plus point. I think tongue.gif

Well sing on bonus or expense. I already ask nope, don't get those. Only a take home pay. Nothing else. cry.gif . Lucky they throw in the transportation fee which i can claim to send thing from here to singpore up to a certain amount. However is invoice claime basic and not cash on hand. cry.gif

That is why i need to calculate really well before i actually make a move to Singapore. The other thing wanted to check with you all. Any coupple have experience before how easy is to get a job in Singapore. Coz i am thinking to bring my wife down then she start to look for job there while i am working. At least place to stay is cover for her. rather then send email/letter then got interview people also think twice since you are in KL not in Singapore.

Please share. notworthy.gif
