QUOTE(deodorant @ Apr 26 2013, 12:54 AM)
All I see from your posts are complain complain complain complain. If you are so miserable here (I recall you felt "forced" to come to SG by your parents and it wasn't necessarily what you wanted to do) then pack up and go back home.

Having said that, perhaps you're just suffering from a little Quarter Life Crisis. You spent the last 5, 10, 15 sheltered years in school imagining what your working life would be, only to find out in the last few weeks that reality isn't as rosy as you hoped.

All I can say is welcome to the real world. All of us to some degree or other have felt what you feel. Heck, when I first started working I was SO SURE that I would be driving an RX8 after 3 years of working life. Now I'm entering into my 8th year and I can't really even afford a car.
*
when someone is already having a 'victimized mindset', his/her doors are shut. Everything will be injusticed to them. From pay, race, religion, nationality and even family. You are absolutely right about packing up and leave.

I am above 30 and armed only with a weak STPM cert.  All my experience in corporate sales and banking sales are irrelevant here.

I am thinking to furthering my study to increase my chance in this paper country.  Anyone of you doing part time studying? Can you link me up?  In Malaysia we have wawasan open Uni and most local college have part time course.  Anything similar in Singapore?

thks
*
no shame in that. I also spm, cukup cukup makan only. Having a hard time surviving in this 'paper society' . Have you check with your company if they sponsor any course for its employees? Job related course ?

QUOTE(mradult @ Apr 26 2013, 07:37 PM)
Good day everyone.

Wanted to ask, which money changer in Singapore has the best rate in terms of SGD to MYR? Where do you guys do your exchange usually?

Thanks.
*
try to change is Sg coz JB rates always lower. There's a money changer in Lot 1, (3rd floor?) which give pretty good rate and always got people line up.

worst day and time to travel out of Sg. On top of that it's an election weekend and tons of Malaysians rushing back to vote. Probably Malaysian immigration will come up wif funny tricks to delay those from Sg from going in. Having said that, good luck !!!

I know this a bit off topic but I've been hearing strong rumours going around my Malaysian relatives and friends in Singapore that Singapore registered cars would not be allowed into Malaysia or would be stopped in Malaysia.  This is to prevent Malaysians living in Singapore from going home to exercise their right to vote in Malaysia.

Does anybody know if there's any truth in this?  I know that it has made some of my relatives and friends in Singapore cautious about driving back to Malaysia to vote.  If its true, any suggestions on what to do to be prevented from going home to vote?  I understand that most of the coach services have been fully booked by now.

Looks like traffic at Woodlands is still light into Malaysia.

Anyone crossing into Malaysia by road (bus or car), perhaps you can advise first hand experience of the traffic and immigration counters at the Tuas and Woodlands and the N/S Expressway during the course of the day.

Have a good day ahead to all.
*
Morning and noon still ok. Let's see if you can cross the borders < 2 or 3 hours tonight and tomorrow.

*
fongwan Sg Government take copyright infringement pretty seriously. Well if you get caught you could always tell the officer(s) that cless^alvein from LowYat says it's perfectly ok and will not subject to check.

QUOTE(xtylish @ May 3 2013, 10:42 AM)
u asked many times already. your marketing degree is worthless in singapore. you will be put below sg poly grads and surely your pay will not exceed 2k.

reality check.
*
how old are you ? still a kid ? use your miserable case as a benchmark for all ? when are you gonna wake up and stop ranting ? if not, I suggest you pack your bag, go home, probably cast a vote, hope for the best and never come back.

you just want to pick a fight.

I said so is because I am scanning through hundreds of resumes a week. I know because I schedule interviews everyday.

So you prefer i fabricate it all for him? Let him come back and tell u he got a job above 2k with a marketing degree with no experience.

He will be very lucky then. And you are just a seasoned troll.
*
so now you are using your company as a benchmark and telling ppl that is the 'de-factor' standard for Sg ? That he/she for sure can't get > $2k ? maybe for your sorry case but definitely not for others.
no one is trying to pick a fight.

if you wanna say like that, you can put your input instead of challenging me or whatever benchmark i have.

at least i have a benchmark for him, what do you have to offer for him?

I am just from a small SME company, if u are so smart u can work for any big MNC and they will pay you 10k per month. ain't that nice to hear?

Go on continue asking me questions.
*
talking about big MNC, still looking for a bigger MNC to jump to but after looking for so many years, just come to the reality there isn't any.
but I'm sure you are having fun at your company.

parang ? heard rumors that a lot of parang have been purchased. ... rather that let it rust.

QUOTE(seantang @ May 7 2013, 10:33 AM)
For Parliament, you are quite right. But there were some very close critical ones... eg. the one in Pahang where the MB would need to potong telinga if that was lost etc.

For state DUN... they just need 2 for Perak. And not much more than that for Trengganu.

... and so it begins...

there will be a lot of anti-Chinese remarks/sentiments for this couple of weeks. especially so when May 13th is also around corner. Najib already labelled the Chinese as 'extremist' a couple of days back in the paper.

As to the Q asked as to 'What More Do the Chinese Want?'

The A is very simple and it is applicable to all Malaysians and not just to the Chinese only:

a) Equality / Fairness;
b) Transparency;
c) Integrity;
d) Meritocracy (within the context of the social contract and the Malaysian constitution).
*
you could never have that, ever. Malay special rights, which is inside the Federal Constitution of Malaysia.

actually majorities of the problems will solved by itself if CORRUPTION stops. We have more than enough wealth to manage the country and take care of it's people.
