Using this combi seat... very nice no complaints...

But problem is all COMBI seats doesnt come with ISOFIX, so its kinda a hassle to move around different cars...

End up buying another seat so can have one in each car..

I finally had time to check out the Combi Malgott carseat manual. One thing I'd like to point out is that it rear-faces only to 10kg. Since rear-facing is FIVE TIMES safer than forward facing, I suggest that when your baby gets close to 10kg, go shopping for at least an infant seat that rearfaces to 13kg, so you can rear-face just a little longer.

There are carseats that rear-face to 13kg that are as cheap as RM119, so surely that price is worth the extra FIVE TIMES protection you can give your baby for an extra 3kg? My baby slowed down in growth a lot after he turned 6mo. He's been 9kg for 3 whole months, so assuming that he only grows 1kg every 3 months after 10kg, that's another 9 months that he can rear-face! For such a low price. And yes, when your baby is not yet 2yo, cheapo RM119 rear-facing carseat is still FIVE TIMES safer than fancy-shmancy RM1.5k front facing carseat. But do make sure that baby's head still shorter than the top of the infant carseat/carriers. Some infant carriers claim can rear-face to 13kg, but the back is too short and baby cannot fit anymore by height long before they reach 13kg.

Luckily mine is not a fat baby...

Anyway we went for rear until she started complaining due to the lack of view... so we shifted to forward facing when she was around 12~18 months.

Its a matter of which model suit your needs.

Keep in mind usually jap brands no ISOFIX. They use seatbelt which might be a bit more hassle to install.

ALso whether u want the seat to be portable? Can be extended to use until they older etc.

FOr me, I got 2 combi seat... one for each me and my wife car. Different model, one can dissaemble and use as booster seat

ya since i'm driving a old gen myvi and not going to change to a new car sooner, i'm considering the non isofix ones laugh.gif

by portable, do u mean it can be used as a carrier?.. if it is, doesnt matter to me..

the longer it can be used, the better.. mostly i see online, usually up to 4 years.. its considered okay to me..

what brand u are using?..

Combi. One each car, lazy keep transferring. The 2nd one can seperate to be used as booster seat when she's older.

ANy of the reputable brands should do fine.

Just need to see if u want to use ISOFIX or not.

Also, bring your baby along and let them try it out

I don't agree with putting the baby in the middle seat. Either the left or right side would be more secure. Also the raised middle part will make it hard to secure against lateral movement.
