Hmmm... I think the insurance covers until it reaches you? Because with insurance means it is registered, so long as you don't sign for it means it has not reached you and you can report the parcel is missing. I know our local postal service isn't the best around and I can see the condition of the parcels between Pos Laju delivery and DHL delivery, if it's Pos Laju the box all koyak and lubang everywhere (they do use the Pos Laju tape to tape it back but pray nothing came out before that!) while DHL the box is clean and perfect. Once I had a big parcel from Europe (bigger set than modular) and the shipping box was damaged so badly that only the tapes are holding everything together, the contents are clearly visible and I can put my head through the hole in the box! ohmy.gif So my advised is to inform the seller of rough handling by our postal service and request they pack with extra protection.
Last year I have to open a dispute with PayPal because the seller went AWOL after I made payment. I kept writing to the seller to no avail and finally opened a dispute with PayPal weeks later, all PayPal do is ask me to wait a little longer, write to the seller etc... While what PayPal did is procedurally correct before finally arriving at maybe refunding me the money, I was a little disappointed and frustrated with the process. I would expect with the fees PayPal is charging they would be quicker in processing a dispute. Anyway, I was lucky I didn't have to experience the whole dispute process because my seller went on long vacation without putting up a notice and I got my Lego parts with some discounts! thumbup.gif  So what I wanted to say is PayPal dispute isn't as fast as you may think.
Yup! Some seller insists on insurance because they don't want the hassle of dealing with damaged/missing parcels later on. It could be from bad past experiences... Some sellers go as far as not wanting to ship overseas or to certain countries. Frankly the risk with any online deal is the integrity and honesty of both parties. A dodgy buyer could claim the parcel is missing or contents damaged when it is not and vice versa... Yeah it is already quite costly for shipping to Malaysia and it is lagi more costly if we add insurance. So far I always opt not to have insurance if the option is given to me, touch wood no missing parcels so far! I sometimes find some parts damaged or the Lego boxes crushed but to me it is still worth the savings. Just last week for the first time I lost one small part because there was a hole in the shipping envelope, Pos Laju taped it up but I lost one piece of 4x6 plate. That cost me 30cents, still cheaper than buying insurance and I didn't bother to claim from seller except to inform him that he should pack it better next time. Maintaining a happy buyer/seller relationship. biggrin.gif

One tip I can share is to have the parcels delivered to your office. The stuff I ordered usually won't fit into my house letter box so it is risky what the postman will do when he finds me not home, either he dumps it there or he give a slip for me to collect from Pos Laju. I find in the past that sometimes that slip may go unnoticed, it may be sandwiched between other letters or destroyed by rain. I'm lucky that my spot in the office is facing the main door so I can see the mailman when he make his delivery rounds. And because I order so often the mailman knows me already and he hand the parcels directly to me instead of giving it all to the HR department for sorting! rclxms.gif I guess knowing the mailman also means less chance of things going missing, my colleagues are puzzled why I get so many parcels! tongue.gif

damn is all about luck. may be i need to kopi O my mail man when i see him.... hahah

Woohoo! Modular buildings galore!  thumbup.gif  notworthy.gif

I love your Friends MOC, makes me wanna tear down all my daughter's Lego Friends buildings and MOC into a modular! Thanks for the inspiration!  icon_idea.gif  rclxm9.gif
IMHO Fire Brigade is the most fun among all the Modular Buildings! It's my daughter's favourite modular! To me that is a must buy and more so now that it is going to be discontinued soon... You should try to "BrickLink" the 10190 Market Street and 10185 Green Grocer while the prices for the parts are still farily reasonable...
USPS First Class will take 2-3 weeks to reach Malaysia. Tracking is only possible within USA, once it leaves US facility you will not be able to track not even when it reaches Malaysia and in transit to you. You will only know when it is delivered to you. That looks like a very good price, is it new in box? You should get the 9500 Fury Class Interceptor, it is big and very nice to swoosh around! drool.gif Poison u! haha!
Hi bro, please keep us posted on your kampung house MOC! It will be so refreshing to see local themed MOC rather then the European ones! I'm still building up my collection before I start MOC modulars for my city but if you need help in sourcing parts I may be able to help. I order parts quite regularly so you can tumpang your parts order with me. smile.gif
Yeah, have to keep up with Lego release and buy the modulars now before they increase in price. I also don't have proper space to assemble everything together so my modulars are all collecting dust in the shelves. yawn.gif
