QUOTE(Aoshi_88 @ Nov 1 2007, 09:31 PM) lol, tat fella was complaining his 1-2 years old 8k worth rig can't play the demo at high settings or something in the previous few pages, and then switched to promoting console gaming, while at the same time, calling most ppl here hypocrites who have too much money to spend for upgrading rigs to play the latest gamesQUOTE(skylinegtr34rule4life @ Nov 1 2007, 09:35 PM) just fully tested the demo.overall is quite fun n awesome grafix.i can run smooth in medium with 6x AA @ 1440*900 with my system.this game is definitely one step ahead of far cry 4 sure. i'll be surprised if after 2-3 years a game still uses tat same enginecrytek has alwiz given great concern on crysis after the release of far cry u read the interviews with the developers and see for urself now, looking forward to far cry:africa This post has been edited by alwizbthere: Nov 1 2007, 09:49 PM |

the thing is, consoles are meant to last for a few years without needing to change the hardware
so they had the best available at the time of manufacturing, and basically u pay the console price once for all the games that it has for pc, the technology changes from time to time, ending up with u needing to fork up more cash in order to maintain the same level of performance... pls stop comparing consoles and pc la, it's an endless argument, with the fanboys of each hardware will defend their choice to the end this is crysis thread, so let's get back to crysis discussion |

QUOTE(Kiding @ Nov 11 2007, 08:17 AM) You are actually comparing hardware level between PS3 and PC, the overall game graphical performance doesn't solely build on hardware only, platform also plays a significant part. A decent games can run only on 256MB system memory and 256MB VRAM for Full HD resolutions in PS3, do you think the same game can do it on the WinXP or Vista PC? so don't just compare console and PC at hardware level , it is not apple to apple comparison. QUOTE(Hornet @ Nov 11 2007, 10:39 AM) Of course console is not a general purpose hardware. But still, does that makes PS3 a more powerful hardware? no. As you said, PS3 is not general purpose hardware, that means that PC needs more brute force to achieve such performance and they does. It is a fact that Crysis cannot, and I repeat, CANNOT run on any of current gen consoles. Not without tuning down its image quality. pls lar u 2, or whoever else joining this out of topic discussionAnd yes what I'm comparing here is image quality. PS3 cannot achieve the kind of image quality PC can because PS3 is Dx9 API, it doesn't supports SM4.0, Geometry shader and virtualization. How about the GPU? You're only talking about the ram, but what about the GPU architecture? It's an older architecture that uses separate pixel and vertex shader. Modern PC GPU uses SMP to do both vertex and pixel operation. That means optimization. This is something you cannot achieve no matter how you optimize a console architecture. If you have heavy vertex load, older GPU architecture will still get bottleneck because you cannot dynamically balance the load out between your SMP. I've mention this a thousand times now I'd like to hear what console fanboys opinion on this. If anything, X360 is more powerful than PS3, they have unified shaders as well, though just 48 as compared to 128 on a GeForce 8800. And x360 GPU also has 10MB cache. But it doesn't really matter. The games quality speaks for itself At the end of the day, as far as performance goes, PC > x360 > PS3 > wii It would be ignorant to still say PS3 is the most powerful hardware there is. Consoles are build to last 5 years yes, and so the trade off is they are not the top notch hardware in terms of performance. It gives you a set of architecture to work on, you're told what it can and cannot do, and so you build your game solely on that predefine rules for a console. You cannot make a miracle and build console with a technology from 5 years into the future. You can build them with current hardware, and it stays there while technology moves on ahead. this is crysis thread, u want to continue the pointless discussion of the tech difference and performance of consoles vs pc, start some thread somewhere. if this continue on, i might be compelled to report both of ya |

hah????
it's not like it's some secret code for the game it's a vehicle code for multiplayer gaming only, supposed to give u a special vehicle if u multiplay, besides the extra weapons u will find in multiplayer tat's not available in the single player, such as nuclear launcher for collector edition only if not mistaken it's a feature of the collector edition, some extra stuff for multiplayer gaming which give u extra advantage just like those buying hellgate london CE has the special pet, and armor skin it's pretty common now for collector/special edition to have some features beyond the normal version This post has been edited by alwizbthere: Nov 15 2007, 12:00 AM |

usually the extra stuffs are for multiplayer mode, but some might come with collectibles
check out sites like tsb.com.my before buying next time or at least surf around those gaming sites, they provides information on wat's available between the different edition of the game |

thing bout crysis is, the nanosuit power gives a lot of variety to both the single and multiplayer
some ppl like to cloak and snipe, some might want to rush in with maximum speed mode and whack every1. other play maximum strength play like the hulk there's a lot of choices for u to play, and dun forget there's a lot of weapons and vehicles tat's only available in multiplay |
