Hi guys,
Any idea where to get portable spot light?

I really need it to help me see better since I have switched my detailing activities to night time.

I know ACE have it, but the one near my place out of stock for sometimes already....

any ideas?

For those of you who are wondering what Hyperdressing is, it's a water-based dressing for interior/exterior rubber, plastics, vinyl, etc. It comes in a concentrated form, i.e. for usage, recommended dilution from 1:1 ~ 1:4, the stronger the dilution and shinier the finish.

I particularly like the HD because it's easy to use especially for dressing the engine bay and wheel wells. After cleaning, I spray it on and just let it dry....no need to wipe except if there's overspray, etc.

I don't have any recent pics but here's roughly how it looks. Remember, this is just spray on and walk away...no wiping....

Oh...and like always, proper cleaning is the key for best results. But with HD, after cleaning I can straight away spray on the wet engine/engine bay, start the engine and let the heat do the drying and....voila....

Thanks for the poison. I need to beat the cleanliness of your engine bay.

Same goes to "To be the best, you'll need to beat the best."

Just had a round of try out on the degreaser (1:3)... Guess I really need a power washer.

Still plenty of dirt for this 5 years old car, and never have the engine bay cleaned.

But after wash, there are plenty of oil on the floor. So if any of you wanted to try this method and wash your engine bay, do take note that your floor will get very dirty.

1:3 or 1:4, it is only 50ml difference.

I diluted it to 1l bottle.

You do see some funny water mark though....biggrin.gif

Ok, will dilute it to 1:4. All Quaza's fault. No prior warning.

It was only my first try, so I didn't really direct the water on to the spot. Will do it again tonight.

>> Just checked the engine, still intact. biggrin.gif Still not very satisfying as plenty of dirty spot everywhere. But I do see the effect of degreaser already, and my chasis tag is freaking clean even without brushing.

Time to get some brushes then. Those baby bottle brushes (especially those with long handle) would come in handy for the engine bay, especially for those hard-to-reach areas.
*
Got the brush and more spray cans for the liquids.

Will give it another go tonight and will try and finish it with hyperdressing on 1:4.

Thanks for the guidance.

Guys, car is 2 weeks old. Coated with OptiGuard. Noticed a few spot of water mark on bonnet which could not be cleaned with car wash shampoo.

Is there any product (safe for the paint) recommended for this?

Was advised to try Zymol Cleaner Wax. Just like to know more opinions.

Go back to whoever that apply the OptiGuard, they will solve it for you.
It always come with warranty for I think 5 years.

Really?

I can quote what was said to me last time. "Bring it back if anything, we'll try and fix it".

I don't think your detailer should be so calculative, and it is quite odd that water marks appear so fast. It has only been a few weeks, right?

Hi Care Care/Detailing gurus,

I seek your kind wisdom/advice as to what the most cost-effective DIY coating solution would be?

Primary considerations:
- can be applied by newbies without dedicated equipment
- available here in Malaysia
- high slickness (new car mah... )
- reasonable durability
- will not require second mortgage on house

*
There are plenty of DIY coating solutions in the market.

1. If you don't want to buy those equipment, you can always borrow from someone. But of course you need to know how to use. EVEN if you do not have those equipment, you CAN STILL DIY coating. Normally equipment are used to remove paint imperfection, in your case, you will apply a coat onto your car paint ontop of those imperfection.
Using hand only also can, definitely very tiring and definitely cannot achieve what a machine can do.

2. Plenty are available in Malaysia, or KL.

3. What do you mean by high slickness? Ada cara, but if without equipment then a bit susah.

4. Of course got.

5. The solutions available in the market is not that expensive, what more when you DIY. Around RM300~RM400.

BUT the thing is, you said do not have time to maintain monthly and bi-monthly... This will make whatever you're trying to achieve above TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE.

Even after paint coat is applied, you still need to do a simple weekly/bi-weekly wash if possible.

Ummm... ok.... actually, I wasn't asking so much as to whether can or cannot... more like: can you suggest some brands/solutions? I've heard about Permanon, Opti-Coat.... stuff like Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint Sealant (BFWD) can't seem to be readily available here.

Of course I will be washing it once a week, if not personally at least sending it to the local cash wash.

Let's say: If I were to set a budget of RM500, assuming I am starting with zero equipment, what should I get?
*
"...Dodo Juice Infinity Sealant, Choose Nanotech Coating 9H, ArtDeShine 2K 9H, CQuartz UK edition....these are the more recent coatings available and are far more user friendly than the two that you mentioned..... brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

For 'super sealants' instead of semi-permanent coatings you have DuraGloss, Osren, Choose NanoTech, etc to choose from too...."

Above are some products shared by krismas.

I am using Dodo Juice Sealant.

Assuming you still want to apply paint coat without rectifying the paint imperfection, that you can try what have been suggested above.
They are all available in Msia market.

Good Luck. smile.gif

I'm using Opti-Seal... can't remember how much, think is RM125.00

Almost 2 years already, still got 3/4 bottle left. Worth every penny.

But you definitely can get cheaper than that price in some web URL.
